I am happy to see that we are doing something!

FALLUJAH, Iraq - Hundreds of U.S. and Iraqi troops in tanks, trucks and other vehicles surrounded the turbulent city of Fallujah on Monday ahead of a major operation against insurgents blamed for the grisly slayings of four American security contractors last week.

U.S. commanders have been vowing a massive response to pacify Fallujah, one of the most violent cities in the Sunni Triangle, the heartland of the anti-U.S. insurgency north and west of Baghdad.

True, the resolutions were enacted due to the belief of the *INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY* that Saddam had something major to hide regarding WMD. It would be foolish to think that he was willing to risk so much if he were really innocent all he had to do was prove he had complied. This thinking defies all common sense or rules of logic.

Well, actually some people would argue that people don't submit to being violated just because the violotion will prove that it wasn't needed in the first place.

Unbelievable, James. It seems like you are saying that Saddam did the right thing to defy the 12 UN Resolutions out of principal. Is this what you are saying?

Tell me why, in your opinion that the International Community voted for these resolutions against Saddam threatening to use force if he didn't comply. Why do *you* think that happened?

I would like to understand better the interesting world *you* live in.

The resolutions were tied to the first Iraqi war after the invasion of Kuwait.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

I don't know what happened to anyone else in Germany but when I was there in 1994 I had a great time.

Even with my broken german in the smaller towns and in the cities where most speak English, I allways felt liked and welcomed.

Hummmmmmm, come to think of it maybe they did hate me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so that's why they brought me a "whole liter of bier", so I would get drunk and die in a car crash?

That's not true, and even the left wing hasn't tried to pull that over on us. (I haven't been to any of the more extreme sights, but the media has been pretty square on the facts over the years). No main stream media outlet has claimed that the findings of the UN Inspectors were that the programs had since been dismantled, as Hussein had asserted!!! Where did you come up with that??? Saddam kept KICKING THE INSPECTORS OUT and Bill Clinton did nothing about it! At least three or four of the resolutions had to do with threatening him if he didn't let inspectors back in! He had YEARS to do whatever he pleased...

I don't believe that you have real German friends who would dispute that with me. I believe that you have real German friends, as people are people and there are nice people everywhere - but I don't believe that they would argue that the general feeling in Germany towards the US is friendly in any way.

And, I'm not judging them! I've been there! I didn't say I hate them I said they hate us! That is an observation, not a judgement. ;)

And I will not allow anyone else's biased view against the U.S. influence me because I am very biased in favor of the U.S. Because of my bias, I cannot accept negative viewpoints from people who do not live here as valid. I never will. And I really don't mind if they have negative viewpoints toward us, I have no desire to change their minds. Any group of people can feel any way they want as long as they don't act on their feelings. I was pretty angry when the fanatical Muslims came over here and murdered thousands of us, for instance.
