Kerry Flip-flops on Missing WMDs

It's quite a turnaround for Kerry, who just a few weeks ago was complaining, "George Bush sold us on going to war with Iraq based on the threat of weapons of mass destruction. But we still haven't found them . . . . We were misled about weapons of mass destruction."
Key Kerry backer Howard Dean has been even more adamant, insisting to CNN earlier this month, "There were no weapons of mass destruction . . . This is Bushgate, which is far more serious than Watergate."
But Tuesday night on MSNBC's "Hardball," Kerry retreated.
"It appears, as they peel away the weapons of mass destruction issue - and we may yet find them," he told host Chris Matthews. "Look, I want to make it clear. Who knows if a month from now, three months from now, you find some weapons? You may."
Coincidentally or not, Kerry's reversal came a day after the Jordanian government announced that WMDs from Syria were part of an al Qaida plot to kill 80,000 people in Amman with poison gas. At least one of the plotters has admitted he was trained in Iraq.
The top Democrat's flip-flop also followed news that a suspected weapons of mass destruction production facility in Baghdad - disguised as a perfume factory - unexpectedly blew up, killing two GI's who were searching the plant.

Ahh yes, it is a "flip-flop" because he has changed his mind based on different evidence at hand.

No, HE never said that, and it is almost funny that you keep repeating this same line.

And Bush didn't pick and choose the intelligence. They saw ALL of it, as well as intelligence form other countries. From that intelligence we, as long as the rest of the world believed Saddam to have them. Now we will find out that the world community was not wrong, and Kerry needs to start doing damage control starting now.
Since it has now come to light that Saddam had an ace in the hole with the Security Counsel in that he knew that he had bribed France and Russia you are arguing with old information. Did you forget about that? Bush wasn't unconvincing. The intelligence wasn't unconvincing. It was the bribe that prohibited support, remember?
<> To me, that sounds like new information.
What is more dangerous is to remain steadfastly pigheaded in your views and never change your mind. Rather, you try your darndest to discredit or supress the people/information that is contrary to your own and refuse to consider it. That sounds a bit too much like GW Bush.

Speaking of Saddam, he did say, "I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002.
And he also said, "ithout question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ..." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003.
And as another poster said, his view was based on infomation provided by all the various intelligence agencies directly to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee which he happens to be a member of.
