SBC Communication Workers to Strike?

According to the news, the CWA union has voted a strike against SBC. The main issue seems to be healthcare. I looked at the union website and a theme of "entitlement" runs through it. From what I hear, these union members pay absolutely zero towards healthcare. I think before these people walk off their jobs, they need to get the facts on what management has been stuck with. Not the top dogs--the regular Joes. My husband has worked for SBC for 20 years and over the last four years our out of pocket expenses have increased from $50 to $225 per month. His commission pay has been "restructured" every year for the last 3 and his sales quota was just set at an unprecedented high with the qualifying statement, "No commissions will be paid unles the quota is reached." He is 50/50 salary and commission. And, oh by the way...no salary treatment this year and expect to work 12 hour days, 7 days a week during this strike and we might pay you some type of bonus. Don't get me wrong--go for what you feel is right. Just be prepared --this won't be easy for you. SBC is prepared for the long haul and is looking forward to saving $12 million per day.

Healthcare is a major issue with all companies, unionized or not.
