"President Bush says he is sorry for the humiliation suffered by Iraqi prisoners at the hands of U.S. troops."

Is that all he can say is that he is sorry? This man has not apologize for the thousands of soldiers that have lost their lives due to the misguidance of the WMDs that do not exsist or the many relationships that he has ruined with our allies.

If he is so pissed off at Don Rumsfeld why doesnt he just fire him.

What a joke.

I take it you are NOT happy with his apology. Why ask for it to begin with? Why not just be honest and say that NOTHING he does will be acceptable to you?

OMG, first Bush's critics complain about him NOT apologizing, and when he DOES, then they complain even more. I guess people are mad because he did apologize and made them look bad because they said he would never do it. Go figure!

It's simple, really. Liberals hate the president. There's no other way to interpret their animosity toward him. And they have the audacity to call those with differing views "closed-minded". I guess they're p*ssed because others won't take "their" words as gospel. Can you imagine society with only one prevailing world view? Oops! That's called Marxism and it's been tried a number of times but with the same results...oppression.

This was one person's opinion, which you have now extrapolated to all liberals? And you project audacity, closed mindedness and anger onto an entire group based on this one person's statement?

It's comical you seem to take offense at the animosity you project onto others, when you provide so clear an example of it yourself in your rather scathing overreaction.

If you read CLOSELY I responded to Bethanne's comments and they were not aimed at the original poster. She was talking about the Bush detractors IN GENERAL. I responded in like manner by not singling out the original poster. My observations regarding liberals are based on my experience on this board and via life experiences. I have a very good friend who just plain hates our president and he's an uber-liberal. We have agreed to avoid political topics altogether. That doesn't mean I hate him or liberals. You can take what you want out of my post and I don't give a darn. Publicly castigating me for my opinion isn't going to change my mind.

Where are the liberals who approve of Bush's comments? Arabs I've seen interviewed about this have been more generous than any anti-war lib on tv or these boards that I've seen.

I'm probably one of the most liberal people I know, but I have issues with this whole situtation. I hear people complaining that he wouldn't apologize, then people complaining that he DID apologize. This is kind of odd to me, because Bush isn't the one that was torturing the prisoners. I don't care if HE apologizes or not. The soldiers that were doing the torturing are the ones that need to apologize. It's not like they were acting on Bush's orders, and it's not like they aren't adults who knew what they were doing. It's absolutely ridiculous IMO to blame any of the torture on Bush (as much as I hate to say that since I can't stand the man).

"This man has not apologize for the thousands of soldiers that have lost their lives due to the misguidance of the WMDs that do not exsist or the many relationships that he has ruined with our allies."

And he probably won't, because he doesn't think he did anything wrong. Being upset about it is not going to change a thing. VOTE this November...THAT will do some good.

I think he needed to appologize on the behalf of the American people for the torture that took place and that the administration took efforts to cover this up for months after it originally came to light.
