<<<That picture was taken by the girl's father, NOT by the press. Therefore, Bush could not have known this picture would circulate like it has. >>>

Yeah, he'd have NO inkling that any picture taken of him in public would end up being publicized.

But you see, there's fault in that sort of logic.

I think there are so many grey areas and that is why so many feel differently about this situation. Also the innocent Iraqi's that you say are now PO'd becaue the big bad Americans invaded their country is the reason they now shoot and kill innocent Americans...I say that is hogwash and there are many civilians who are brainwashed or still in fear of Saddam and his regime that they don't see the whole picture becasue they were never allowed to. They hated Americans before we ended up there and to me that's obvious. What country if those not brainwashed would want Saddam back in charge again so they can fear about losing their lives just because and at any given moment? Which one's who now have the freedoms to so many things they were previously not allowed to don't enjoy that freedom now and wish to innocently kill those who gave it to them? Or now drink the clean water through the fixed and working American open water pipes? How about the hospitals that are up and running better with more vaccines they never before had access to? All those things are forgotten so easily when in focus of trying to concentrate on all the bad. Some peopel are obsessed in finding out what else can be viewed as negative so they have something to argue and yell about.

Americans have shot and killed innocent people also, b/c that's a big part of what war is. This is a war that America chose to start - how can you act as though our country is being victimized? The people who are being killed are being victimized, but it's not fair to say, "How awful of the Iraqis to kill the Americans who are there!" and then talk about how we need to avenge them for what they've done to us. What did we expect? Did ppl. honestly think we were going to go in there, crush the Iraqi military, set up a nice little democracy, and then leave? Did people think we were going to encounter a helpless society who would do whatever we told them to do and wouldn't fight back? The fact that Americans are being killed senselessly is one of the reasons we shouldn't have gone to this war in the first place.

I'm sorry. I admit, I was taking two things you said separately and putting them together as though they were the same thought. It's just that your arguments DO make it seem to me as though you are adamant about Americans being the "good guys" in this war, whereas I don't see it as being that black and white, as another poster said.

I'm just sadly shaking my head here.

The attitude of "you should be grateful for what WE have done for you" just smacks of superiority.

The Iraqi people didn't ASK for us to "liberate" them.

They had water and electricity BEFORE we went in there and bombed the crap out of the country.

They had hospitals and medical supplies BEFORE we went in there and cut off their supply routes.

The fact is, they aren't FREE.

I refuse to discuss things anymore with people who take my comments and rewrite them in their own words then in return turn the meaning all the way around. That makes me shake my head sadly. I can go on and on about how much more postive things are being done then they had before but why bother when someone takes apart your words and intentions and uses it in their own words to further prove a point. Owell, If that's how you debate, that's fine, but I don't want any part of it anymore, at least not here with you!

I don't care who took it..He doesn't look to me as if he is being all that attentive to her...maybe seeing the camera made him uncomfortable..It is just not that touching of a picture to me..

Of course you won't, you already don't like Bush. You see an alterior motive in everything he does.

You are correct. I never trusted him or this admistration and they have lived up to all I thought they would...What a shame for this country.

The same could be said in reverse for Bushies whothink the guy walks on water and parts the Red Sea on command, and refuse to believe otherwise.
