Sometimes I have to wonder...

Why I or anyone else would associate myself with individuals like this by referring to myself as a Republican, moderate or otherwise. For that matter, referring to myself as an American if this reflects typical sentiments on the subject...

http://forums.delphiforums.com/USpatriots/messages?msg=4234.16

Bear in mind that this diatribe was the result of my commenting that his attitude and desired actions toward people in Iraq (specifically the prisoners abused by American personnel, which he feel SHOULD be subjected to whatever abuse we can invent) would only lower us to the same level as those he despises so strongly (those who have abused American prisoners at times). I also noted that we as Americans and members of the world community need to hold ourselves to a higher standard that those we criticize on the basis of their treatment of their citizens and their prisoners. His response to that observation was to lock me out of the board, preventing any further discussion of that or any other issue.

Given that forum moderators on Delphi have unilateral control of their boards, I don't see why anyone would want to participate there, including myself on that or any other Delphi forum from this point forward. Just a heads-up for anyone considering getting involved there.

Thanks Chris.

I just can't fathom any real justification for their rage about my posts either... there wasn't any name calling or belittling, just an observation that what they were agitating for put them squarely on the same level as the individuals they hated for their treatment of Americans. But I have *never* encountered so little objectivity or rational thought processes in my life, not just expecting or wanting but DEMANDING that we treat other human beings in nothing less than a barbaric fashion.

I just don't get it... {sigh}.

I couldn't read it because I don't want to register with Delphi...but, I'm not surprised that there are those out there who feel some horrid need for 'revenge' - on both sides.

Oops, forgot about the registration business. Here's a copy of the post in question in case you're wondering just how over the top this guy is...

>>>"Here's your "higher" standard you big-mouthed jerk!!

Video "Seems to Show" Beheading of American

Notice that the AP doesn't have the balls to actually show the video. That would show the world what these heathens are doing to Americans and just might build support for our soldiers and the media in this country is more concerned about nitpicking every little transgression of U.S. soldiers and they've even made up some of them.

Well, I hold the media in this country and ingrates like you responsible for this man's death. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!

Now, if you want to go support your murdering heathen butties in Iraq, go do it, but your ass is out of here. I'm fed up with you immoral liberal lowlife scumbags and your anti-US sentiment."<<<

Vicious, and viciously partisan. How the heck that guy figures I'm a liberal is just another of life's mysteries. Of course, the fact that he believes anyone who doesn't share his whacked-out views *must* be a liberal could have something to do with it.

The best forum on the internet is http://forums.delphiforums.com/bully

Besides being fair and balanced there is no toleration of calling other people derogatory names. Delphi has tons of forums. The ones run by libs are Nazi like. They gag conservatves for denegrations of their icons. Denegration of leaders are allowed on the Bully Pulpit but not of the posters themselves. As for format...ivillage could learn alot. As for Mirage he/she has probably been banned there too.

While you and I agree on little , I have to agree with you here. I agree with your original point, your disgust with this kind of poster and with that "other" place where one goes to try to debate issues amid to four letter words and whacked out ideas.

Remember to this guy the label "liberal" is probably the worst thing he can think of! No matter that he doesn't know what it means or to what degree it might or might not fit you as a person.

I'm sorry you were subjected to this. -Lea

Mark, based on this one post that I have read from this person to you I have some observations.

Have you seen the video of the murder of this young man? I urge you to look at it so that you can understand the other poster's rage. I think he may have been a bit overly emotional and took it out on you, but this video will do that to anyone. This murder was not quick or painless. The young man's head was slowly sawed off and the audio was just too much to bear. I will never forget the sound of his screams during his slaughter for the rest of my life. This is the most inhumane thing that I could have ever imagined, all the while the savages are praising Allah! I have been completely emotionally distraught since I saw it. My reaction is as strong if not stronger than I felt on September 11, 2001.

There is absolutely no comparing this to the prison pictures and I'm sure by your innocent comment it appeared that you were doing so, and put the poster over the edge.

To a degree I guess it was my own fault, thinking that that forum (like these) was intended for the free exchange of differing opinions and viewpoints. Talk about getting the wrong number... .
