>>Sarin Nerve Agent Bomb Explodes in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A roadside bomb containing deadly sarin nerve agent exploded near a U.S. military convoy, the U.S. military said Monday. It was believed to be the first confirmed discovery of any of the banned weapons that the United States cited in making its case for the Iraq war.

Two members of a military bomb squad were treated for "minor exposure," but no serious injuries were reported.

I realize that the administration has done an excellent job of associating terrorism with Iraq; however, the terrorists on 9/11 were Saudis, and the Cole was from Yemen. Why not Yemen? Why not Saudi Arabia? Why Iraq?

Yes, Afghanistan grows poppies which are turned into heroin, and much of the profit goes to terrorists. It does seem to me that the more we fight the terrorists on their terrority the more we loose. We had almost stopped the poppy trade, but it is now blooming again.

That is my question exactly....still no answers from the Bush camp. Did you see MTP this morning? The Republican rep(can't remember his name) kept talking about the dead Kurds that Sadam gassed as the reason for taking over Iraq...Why are we policing the world when the Republicans hated Clinton for doing the same thing???

Yes, and it is a question that needs an answer. This is why I repeated it, otherwise it would have just been ignored.

I agree Saddam was a ruthless dictator, but the NK Kim Jon Il (?) is just as bad, plus he is a greater threat to the US. Just read a thread "What about North Korea" and we have really made worse mistakes there.

He was a loose cannon who hated US with ties to Al Qaeda. Al Quaeda was certain to get them with Saddam in charge of them, now we aren't sure. We are better off now. So are the Iraqi people. The military has executed a brilliant plan that has been successful. There have been fewer American casualties in this war than any in the history or war. We also accomplished our objectives in record time, and continue to do so.

I wonder what would some be saying if "we" waited and instead of making an offense we stuck to just a defense. All the while Saddam and his Iraqi support ended up using WMD or causing another 9/11, what would some of you had said after that were to happen? You probably would have blamed Bush again and said he did nothing to stop it, just like a lot are saying he did nothing to stop or prevent 9/11. So which is it? Do you want to just have a defense or should this time we learn from past mistakes and develop an offensive plan to prevent us from undergoing another 9/11 tragedy, but just with someone else behind the wheel? I am in the process of reading a book called "Plan of Attack" which is explaining the reasoning for what has happened and the plan work that went into it, the hand off from the Clinton administration to the Bush administration in regards to Iraq and Afghanistan and N. Korea. N. Korea is said to be not such an immediate problem but moreso a future problem that needs dealing with but not right this moment. Iraq and Afghanistan are what is top priority and this book explains exactly why. Anyways I feel some of you would have been unhappy with any result just as long as Bush was in charge, end of story. I would love to see some of you sit in a room with the professional intelligence team, Bush and his administration (Renuart,Rumsfeld, Powell,Tenet, Franks...etc) and tell them how they were wrong and what YOU would have done. They'd laugh at you and say that you do not even know what document said what and what secret service information they were basing any of this on...because in reality you and I don't know really because we were not behind the scenes. To be honest I think taking Bush and his administration away from all this and putting a new one in there in Nov. is going to be the wrost thing that can happen in the middle of a war. I pray that doesn't happen. Although I know some of you are praying the opposite and simply because you hate Bush plain and simple.
