>>Sarin Nerve Agent Bomb Explodes in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A roadside bomb containing deadly sarin nerve agent exploded near a U.S. military convoy, the U.S. military said Monday. It was believed to be the first confirmed discovery of any of the banned weapons that the United States cited in making its case for the Iraq war.

Two members of a military bomb squad were treated for "minor exposure," but no serious injuries were reported.

Saddam claimed to have destroyed *all* Sarin gas prior to the first gulf war. This proves that he lied about it, which must shatter some people who had placed so much faith in Saddam's truthfulness...

"It is hard to know if this is one that just was overlooked - and there were always some that were overlooked, we knew that - or if this was one that came from a hidden stockpile," Kay said. "I rather doubt that because it appears the insurgents didn't even know they had a chemical round."

First I guess we will have to wait and see that this is Sarin (although it probably is), but more importantly the question that we have been asking and will continue to ask is where are these hidden stockpiles that Saddam was supposed to be keeping and was the purpose of this war.

Are you saying that Saddam just "overlooked" this Sarin gas warhead while he was destroying all the others? LOL! I'm sure he just misplaced it... I hear he used to misplace his car keys alot, too. Anybody could make a mistake like this, Saddam couldn't have lied.....

Please..

Arguable point, but I'll let it slide anyway. The important thing is that the WMD's have begun to show up, and few individuals were hurt in the discovery. A secondary point of interest is that we now have a definitive answer for those who insisted that if the WMD's had ever existed we would have found them already. The number of them out there is still in question, but even one is one too many.

Up until today they were claiming that there were "no" WMD. Now it is changing to "no large stockpiles"...

Okay, I guess now I am totally converted, I am very glad we went to war and caused all these problems at home and abroad because I am terrified of the one shell that Saddam had filled with Serin gas.

/sarcasm off

My point is that this just doesn't prove much of anything to me, we didn't make a case to go to war because of a few shells Saddam had in his posession.

Well lets see that's 1 sarin bomb(of questionable quality) per roughly 900 American dead Soldiers...Wow something to be proud of George and Donny. Keep up the good work.

And now we also know why Kerry recently went on the record saying that they might turn up after all.

Well no one has argued that they "ever" existed because we know for a fact that they did exist at one point (heck, he USED them on his own people back when we still thought of him as an "ally" of sorts).

As an aside (because I honestly don't know the answer), would you really consider this a "WMD" my opinion from reading that article is that this weapon wasn't exactly a "high payload" device.

President Bush received overwhelming support from both sides of the aisle when he said we must act *before* the threat becomes imminent.

The left side of the aisle abandoned him and our military once Howard Dean started getting votes by speaking out against our efforts in Iraq. I can't count how many times I've heard repeated over and over "There were *no* weapons of mass destruction...

If it had been delivered as it had been intended it could have killed thousands, so yes, it is a weapon of mass destruction. Sadam promised that he had destroyed *all* of his Serin gas weapons. He lied.
