Your thoughts on this evening's speech?

Did the speech assure you that there is a specific workable plan?

Speech was first of six before June 30 handover.

Bush outlined five broad steps to restore Iraqi sovereignty and get the country back on its feet:

  • Handing over authority to a sovereign Iraqi government.

  • Establishing security.

  • Continuing to rebuild Iraq's infrastructure.

  • Encouraging more international support.

  • Moving toward a national election in Iraq that "will bring forward new leaders empowered by the Iraqi people."

Excuse me but I think that is way out of your guidlines to to talk to me in that "parenting" way. I am not a child and I don't care how long someone has posted on here, that doesn't say anything in the terms and conditions of this forum so I can comment on my shock and freaked out state when I read her post to me. Thank you very much. I think I deserve an apology from you because your comment to me and almost demand was uncalled for and very rude.

Just about every single thing posted as a link to defend your side of things from many librals comes from the Washington Post. This is just another "typical" your sources are not as good as mine, neener neener neener! I don't mind the lack of maturity while debating, I have actually grown quite used to it.

Let's try this one more time:

    <>

The post this responds to. "Humm who needs to calm down? This is a debate board not personal."

There appears to be a misunderstanding. Allow me to elaborate. Debate IMO is about the issues being discussed; therefore, emotion or feelings do not enter into it only opinions and or facts. The idea of having to "calm down" when debating to me is a foreign concept. That is what prompted the question.

So that being said let's get on with debating the issues presented on this board.

Yes, and I've noticed that many "conservatives" here resort to it when they've gotten into a "because I SAY it's so" position, with nothing to back it up.

I've come to expect it, and what's unfortunate is that I'm rarely disappointed.

I will gladly let it go, but before doing so I'd appreciate as a member who has been here quite awhile an answer to my question: How is "Yikes calm down" anything degrading or rude? I am the one who felt that kind of presense when responding to the post before, do I get an apology?

Quite frankly I didn't get this paragraph. He looks good on paper, but who in their right would want the job--a target for assination. He does seem to be very happy to work in the background without fanfair--unlike Chalabi who will return to be elected to something. Dog Catcher maybe!

How do you get this pull-down menu. Is it available for those who don't have the deluxe version.
