passing here on the board? I find it very strange. As I have read and watched on the news he was a great person, great communicator and many people is paying the respects, he was loved by many northamerican people, many people will miss him. He was a man with good principles, centered, etc.

There might be a number of reasons, some feel their sorrow quietly, some don't feel the need to talk about it on a public message board, there isn't much to say except that it is sad, some don't feel the same sorrow, some people are too young to remember of care particularly, some don't wish to get into a public competition on who feels the saddest. who knows. for me there isn't much to say other than he had a good life, he lived it well, and his passing is I am sure a loss to those people who loved him dearly, and a loss to those who knew him and admired him.

I don't think there is much to "talk about" on his passing.

Personally, I hate him and have no feelings one way or another about his death. So, to sum it up, no comment.

Lucky you...and I can just imagine the security precautions that you're going to have to deal with.

You sound a little too young to hate someone. Certainly someone you likely know little about. Ahh misguided youth...you have a lot to learn in your senior year of college.

>>Certainly someone you likely know little about.<<

You wouldn't be making an assumption, now would you? I know Raegan was elected for two terms (once in 1981, then later in 1985). He was a Republican (which in and of itself proves he wasn't too bright). In the early 80s, he attacked the SALT treaty with Russia and advocated that the Soviet Union be dealt with in a more militant fashion (gotta love those war mongers). He also opposed abortion and the equal rights amendment (how tolerant). The Libertarians, the Democrats AND the Independents disagreed with him. He invaded Grenada in 1982 in an attempt to overthrow an extremist government (hmmm, sounds similar to the poor decisions made by a more recent president). He also, like Bush, tried to fight terrorism by launching an AIR STRIKE against Libya after it bombed a German night club, killing ONE U.S. Soldier (that doesn't even come *close* to qualifing as an "eye for an eye," nor would it be acceptable, IMO, if it did). He worstened an already fragile economy (the unemployment rate reached it's highest since the Great Depression during *his* presidency), and his "trickle down" theory failed. But hey, he cut taxes and bombed people - what every conservative wants in a president. He was a facist. Period.

Also, I'd like to note that my "hatred" is a political one, not a personal one. But since I don't know good ol' Ron personally, I am neither touched or moved by his death. He was a militant and intolerant president, which suggests to me that he was a militant and intolerant person.

"He was a militant and intolerant president, which suggests to me that he was a militant and intolerant person."

Wouldn't be making assumptions would you?

You certainly sound tolerant to me.

Classic indoctrination.

To quote Reagan and ammend it a little:

Reagan - "How do you tell a Communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin. "

Me - "How do you tell a liberal? Well, it's someone who talks about equality, freedom, freedom of choice. And how do you tell a conservative? It's someone who understands equality, freedom and freedom of choice."

Good luck with your education.
