"...and this country is really in the mood for somebody to tell ’em what they should think, what to do.”

That's exactly what democrats want--to tell the American people what we should think and what we should do. Unbelievable, he just gave away their secret! I'm glad I can think for myself, thank you.

And how about the celebrity turnout for the premiere? Not a real shocker to see Martin Sheen, Demi Moore, Drew Barrymoore, et al excited to be there. And how about Camryn Manheim who was also there, quoted, "A lot of us look to Michael Moore to uncover the real truth." ROFL.

*sigh* These people...

"I like to keep my hard-earned money. "

You evil money lover.

"our economy *did* turn around, and based on economics, tax relief was a huge cause. "

Imagine that...history repeating....

Bush cut economy improves

Reagan cut economy improves

Kennedy cut economy improves.

I can't fathom why someone can't fathom that a tax cut is a good idea. Oh yes I can..either jealousy or no basic understanding of economics.

Cut Taxes = Higher revenue for the government.

Capitalism isn't concerned with who deserves what, it is who earns what.

If you took all the money in the country evenly divided it among the people and waited a few years guess what....most of the rich would be rich again and the poor would be poor. It is more about drive and determination than anything else in the country. Of course believing in that requires belief in personal responsibility. Too hard to swallow for some.

Yea and they broke the law and are going to jail. Isolated case. Unfair things happen life. You feel bad and then pick yourself up and move on. You can't legislate and tax away unfairness.

Like I said, he may have been admitted because of who he is, but if he were not doing the work, I am certain he would be asked to leave (probably quietly to save embarassment).

I was watching Dennis Miller last night, and one of his guests put it perfectly.

The Government has at its disposal only two tools to help the economy.

1) Tax cuts to help stimulate spending

2) Keeping interest rates low (via the Fed).

Thats it.

The government cannot (no matter what any politician tries to sell) create jobs on its own, unless they plan on expanding an already over bloated government payroll.

-- Please enlighten me about Kerry's politics or his war stance? I could have sworn it was almost a duplicate of what our current President said

It was, until he changed his mind to help beat Howard Dean in the primaries, and now he is sounding a lot like Bush again, with much smaller differences.

I have not seen Roger & Me, but I did sit through Bowling for Columbine, and let me tell you that much of what Moore contends are not facts at all, but simply his version of the truth, with a twist of lime.

What is wrong with the economy, if you dont mind my asking?

Highest rate of homweownership in the history of the US.

Fastest rate of economic growth in over 20 years.

Over 1,100,000 jobs created in the first 4 months of this year alone.

Most economic experts feel that the job growth is going to continue to be strong through the third quarter of this year at a minimum.

Seems to be going in the right direction to me.

With regards to the war, there are justifiable reasons to disagree with Bush on that issue, but with the economy, when you compare his vision to that of Kerry, I think perhaps Kerry is not paying all that much attention to what is happening in the economy.

Personally, I am looking forward to seeing this movie, if not simply because I enjoy MM's style. I thought Bowling for Columbine was brilliant, and I'm interested to see what happens with this one.

Sure, MM uses creative editing, just look at how he portrayed Canada in BfC. No one here locks their doors? Gimme a break. And that sure didn't look like a slum to me - he should check out Vancouver's downtown eastside. Not pretty.

Moore does have an agenda - he's a film maker, and a film maker's goal is to create entertainment. He's certainly succeeded at that, with flying colours. I love the point Marilyn Manson made in BfC - keep people afraid and they will consume. My own mother has been saying that since I was a child - and it's true!!! It's quite ironic that that is precisely what Moore is doing. He is creating enough of a stir to get people to see his film. The man is brilliant. But you obviously don't have to agree with him. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the fire.

:)
