"...and this country is really in the mood for somebody to tell ’em what they should think, what to do.”

That's exactly what democrats want--to tell the American people what we should think and what we should do. Unbelievable, he just gave away their secret! I'm glad I can think for myself, thank you.

And how about the celebrity turnout for the premiere? Not a real shocker to see Martin Sheen, Demi Moore, Drew Barrymoore, et al excited to be there. And how about Camryn Manheim who was also there, quoted, "A lot of us look to Michael Moore to uncover the real truth." ROFL.

*sigh* These people...

Oh shut up about democrats and liberals already. I can think of at least 20 conservatives who are just as big of a jacka$$ as Mr. Moore.

Mr. Moore is a moron, no pun intended. This comming from a liberal. He presents no facts, only speculation. What little facts he does have, he either twists around to prove his stupid points, or it's crap everybody knows about already anyway. There should be a colony on the moon, just to shoot morons like him off too, so they can't breed and dilute the human gene pool. Not like anyone would sleep with that sweaty tub of lard....

Ok, because you are so cordial in your response, your on.

Name 20 conservatives that are as bad as Mr. Moore.

We may disagree with each other but you could at least keep it polite.

Jim

20 and counting.

Yep I did read it and that's how I came to the conclusion you have to be blindly following Kerry. here's what you wrote:

"I suppose I have no other choice but to vote for him in November, b/c my #1 priority is getting this administration out and I think he's the only candidate who has even a slight chance at winning against Bush."

You are basically voting for Kerry to get Bush out? That's about it, it sounds to me you are going into this election blindly following whoever isn't Bush. Case closed!

I so agree with you. My Dad is the PResident of a Construction company making hundreds of homes...he struggled for years. Came to a point where the electricity went off and he had to eat food in the cubbard. He is now very comforatble financially and helped me pay off some debt, helped put a down payment on my sister's new house and helped my younger sister out financially to. He is extremey hard-working and he is now reaping the benefits. Where were these people to help him pay the bills then? Now that he has the money he worked so hard for, he has to give it to everyone else? He should beable to pick and choose who he gives his money to and to what cause.

So what's the truth? Guns aren't dangerous? They should be readily available to anyone who wants one, b/c we need guns, b/c if we don't have them then we might be killed by someone? There aren't actually a disproportionate amount of gun related deaths in the US? Enlighten me.

The truth in regards to BfC? That neither Moore nor anyone else could walk into that bank portrayed in BfC, deposit X-amount of money and walk out with that firearm as Moore did. That was a flagrant lie on his part. Not only was there the required federal paperwork to be filled out as with any other new firearm purchase anywhere else, but the firearms weren't even kept on the premises at all, all details Moore deliberately obscured in his efforts to mislead viewers on the subject.

"Guns aren't dangerous?"

The negligent or criminal misuse of them can be dangerous, no question. But that wasn't the point Moore was making.

"They should be readily available to anyone who wants one, b/c we need guns,..."

They aren't legally available to "anyone who wants one", regardless of the reason. Firearms possession and purchases are highly regulated, more so now than at any time in our country's history.

"... b/c if we don't have them then we might be killed by someone?"

It happens. Firearms are used in defensive situations thousands of times each year in the US, most times without the firearm being discharged.

"There aren't actually a disproportionate amount of gun related deaths in the US?"

Violent crime in itself is disproportionately high in the US, not just "firearms" related crime. Our non-firearms related homicide rate is higher than many other country's total homicide rates, indicating that it's not a question of firearms availability, but the willingness to commit violent acts.

Are you feeling enlightened yet? Got any more questions on the subject you'd like to discuss? Please feel free to ask.

Creating for entertainment is one thing. The problem is that BfC was created as a documentary, not simply entertainment. Documentaries require a certain respect for reality, for the objective facts of the matters being addressed, and objectivity, not to mention respect for the facts are both things Moore utterly fails at.

BfC may have been "brilliant" as entertainment, but it was a fraud as a documentary, and that is what it was alleged to have been.
