"...and this country is really in the mood for somebody to tell ’em what they should think, what to do.â€
That's exactly what democrats want--to tell the American people what we should think and what we should do. Unbelievable, he just gave away their secret! I'm glad I can think for myself, thank you.

And how about the celebrity turnout for the premiere? Not a real shocker to see Martin Sheen, Demi Moore, Drew Barrymoore, et al excited to be there. And how about Camryn Manheim who was also there, quoted, "A lot of us look to Michael Moore to uncover the real truth." ROFL.
*sigh* These people...

Did you see the interview with Isikoff?
He attacks Moore's assertion in the film (especially about the Bush / Saudi plan to secret the Saudi nationals out of the country while the US still had its airspace closed.)
By the way, with reference to the flights with the Saudi nationals, do you know who one of the officials was to okay the flights to leave? (good trivia question)

I very much agree with you. The corporate and government unity is not good for this country. I have often said that corporations are not humanitarian concerns and government is need to restrain their single-minded pursuit of profit. If unrestrained corps. can harm average citizens (example early years of 20th century) then imagin what corporations backed by government can do. Welcome to the board.
Other than the fact that you disagree with the content, what's wrong with Moore expressing his "personal political philosophies" isn't that what we all do? I am confused, IF facts are objective, like the sun rises in the east; how can More have contempt? I suspect it is his interpretation of facts that you view as contemptable.

***Our results show a very significant liberal bias.*** All of the news outlets except Fox News Special Report received a score to the left of the average member of Congress. Moreover, by one of our measures all but three of these media outlets (Special Report, the Drudge Report, and ABCs World News Tonight) were closer to the average Democrat in Congress than to the median member of the House of Representatives. One of our measures found that the Drudge Report is the most centrist of all media outlets in our sample. Our other measure found that Fox News Special Report is the most centrist. These findings refer strictly to the news stories of the outlets. That is, we omitted editorials, book reviews, and letters to the editor from our sample.
>"If unrestrained corps. can harm average citizens (example early years of 20th century) then imagin what corporations backed by government can do."<
Exactly! Look what's happening now. Unions have been undermined, partially their fault. Few companies really care about their employees. Only about 20% still have retirement plans. Yet corporations are receiving tax the breaks.
It's kind of funny that Moore used a lot of Clarke's criticism to attack Bush, but since the main theme of his movie is the flights involving the Saudi's, I wonder why he didn't include this little tidbit?
We *all* don't undertake such behavior through making fraudulent claims in *documentaries*. We *all* don't deliberately misrepresent the context of objective facts in order to alter the meaning of those facts to those listening to us in our "documentaries".
"I am confused, IF facts are objective, like the sun rises in the east; how can More have contempt?"
Through misrepresenting them; through removing all pertinent context pertaining to them; through fabricating new "facts" when reality won't satisfy his requirements.
"I suspect it is his interpretation of facts that you view as contemptable."
Partly, when the objective facts of the matter need no interpretation. It's also his fabrications, his misrepresentation, his outright lies which I find contemptable. It's further about documentaries being about presenting objective facts and allowing your viewers to reach their own conclusions, not creating your (generic btw, in case that has to be said) "own" facts and deliberately misleading the viewer as to what those facts are and as well as their pertinent context.
Moore is a fraud, as are his works. He promotes them as being documentaries, yet then proceeds to promote lies and overt misrepresentation in them in regards to the issues he addresses. Defending that sort of behavior in a "documentary" is just another form of the same excusism Moore himself uses to rationalize his lies and deceit.
