"...and this country is really in the mood for somebody to tell ’em what they should think, what to do.”

That's exactly what democrats want--to tell the American people what we should think and what we should do. Unbelievable, he just gave away their secret! I'm glad I can think for myself, thank you.

And how about the celebrity turnout for the premiere? Not a real shocker to see Martin Sheen, Demi Moore, Drew Barrymoore, et al excited to be there. And how about Camryn Manheim who was also there, quoted, "A lot of us look to Michael Moore to uncover the real truth." ROFL.

*sigh* These people...

I will answer the questions raised at the end of the post for you:

Were bin Laden family members allowed to fly within the U.S. during a general ban on air travel? Yes, in order to gather the family together, and perhaps question them all at once before they left the US.

Were bin Laden family members allowed to fly out of the U.S. during a general ban on air travel? No

Were these flights "secret"? No. They flew out of the country on commercial airliners once the airspace was re-opened to commercial traffic. (and they were approved by none other than Richard Clarke)

Did these flights take place over the objections of the FBI? No

Was the FBI denied the opportunity to question bin Laden family members? No. They were allowed to question all people gathered to leave, and questioned 21 of the 24 bin Laden family members

Did the departing bin Laden family members have any meaningful information to impart about Osama bin Laden? No

Michael Moore did what he does best....twist the truth into a way that he can present it so it conforms to his "conspiracy theory" du jour.

Apparently Moore is upset with Isikoff of Newsweek stating that the basis of Moore's contention about the flights are very misleading and incorrect.

i really hate those generalizations about politicians. obviously it's true for some (and no, i wasn't born yesterday) but, no offense, that's kind of a cop-out comeback. even when they do lie, it still makes me call them on it.

so, i guess to use your argument about "just being in one's nature", you must not get outraged when killers kill, rapists rape, etc. because it's in their nature to do so?

I think the problem with Moore is that he lives in his own little world, and can no longer distinguish between the real truth, and the truth that he has made up to prove his political points.

I have seen a few interviews with the man, and by no means is he stupid. He comes across as very intelligent and knows a lot of what he talks about, but when it comes to taking a side, he does seem to use "facts" that may not be so, just to prove his point.

For someone to sit through that movie three times, I am willing to bet that they will not have found any lies, misrepresentations, or distortions to speak of.

That is pretty funny.

I never heard that saying before.

I have heard this one:

Getting a politician to tell the truth is like getting a vampire to go sunbathing.

AMEN!!!!!! LOL!!! I would gladly go to their going away party!!! Who cares about what Hollywood has to say! They are not the leaders of this country for goodness sake!! They act and get OVERPAID, while more important people in our country (policemen, firemen, teachers, ...) get squat!!! FYI - Alec Baldwin can be the first mate and Babs can do the entertainment!!!

"I have not and WILL NOT see this movie. I am ashamed that an american wrote it. I think he is spitting in the face of all the men and women that are fighting for HIS right to write this kind of crap."

what are you so ashamed of if you haven't even seen it?

MM is not spitting on the face of the men and women who are fighting, he's spitting on the face of the current administration. REAL Americans believe OUR military should be used for the interests of the AMERICAN PEOPLE and NOT for those of a few corporations - and THAT'S why so many Americans are outraged - to see OUR American troops (not HIS) getting sent over there to die for a lie. The people in this country who TRULY support the troops the most are the ones who want them home.

NOTHING bush has claimed about our reasons for going to war there have been true. you think anyone who questions this administration is unamerican? to have the right to question your government is what being an American means. This government is supposed to be a government for the people and by the people, and THANK GOD there are still a lot of us in this country who still want it to be.

you'd probably prefer taliban rule where no one can question or criticize those in power.

Your correct, i have not seen the movie...I do believe we are fighting for AMERICANS. What happenend on 911 is directly related to our fight in Iraq. Bush is not to blame for 911 and I believe he is a great president. It is nice to finally have a president that feels he has GOD to answer to. I'm not sure, do you believe we are just supposed to load up and leave iraq. I can;t imagine the damage that would be done if we do that. And reality is...AMERICANS ARE IN IRAQ FIGHTING and we need to support our country leadership instead of trying to forward our own agendas.

You say REAL Americans believe our country is fighting for a lie. I am not sure where you are from, in my area, REAL AMERICANS support the military and what they are doing and if I remember correctly, 911 was not a lie or a dream...it really occured. You say the people that TRULY support the troops are the ones that want them home, i would agree, I believe that everyone no matter what side of this you are on wants them to come home. I know I do, but I also must realize the reality of the situation. I believe our goverment is a goverment for the people. I believe our president is doing everything in his power to make sure 911 doesn't happen again. In response to your "taliban" comment. I believe you are being a little sarcastic, which is fine with me. If I truly believed no one should be questioning anything, I would not even give you my time to discuss this matter. I believe our country is GREAT. I believe we should have freedom, which we do. I realize, there will always be opposite sides to all things, which is why we are all REAL AMERICANS!!!!
