"...and this country is really in the mood for somebody to tell ’em what they should think, what to do.”

That's exactly what democrats want--to tell the American people what we should think and what we should do. Unbelievable, he just gave away their secret! I'm glad I can think for myself, thank you.

And how about the celebrity turnout for the premiere? Not a real shocker to see Martin Sheen, Demi Moore, Drew Barrymoore, et al excited to be there. And how about Camryn Manheim who was also there, quoted, "A lot of us look to Michael Moore to uncover the real truth." ROFL.

*sigh* These people...

I would not go see a move that is made up of a bunch of lies, and I surely would never go to a Moore movie. He is such a jerk!!!!

"I personally think if he wanted to make a point about civilians making decisions that affect the lives of others, he should have asked why our suits in the pentagon, congress and top leaders ignored the military advice and experts."

I'm with you there.

LOL Fox news and World net daily? umm okay. If your think that constitutes fair unbiased reporting then thats the problem.

Not even the president is running around trumpeting these "major" finds ... that should tell you something- since you find him so honest.

"I think most people see celebrities for what they are: Mostly uneducated people playing pretend. At least that's what I hope most people see them as because that's all they are. They use their celebrity to push *their* agendas"

Oh Please, celebrities are no more uneducated then any one else in our population. They are simply American citizens speaking out, as is their right. And frankly I have a lot of respect for anyone who has the courage to speak out knowing they'll be displeasing a percentage of their fans. That doesn't mean my opinion is any more influenced by them then anyone on this board.

"And frankly, if my husband, who proudly served in the USMC as a gunner on the CH-46, were to be called back to fight, I would proudly wear my yellow ribbon and continue to fly my flag high over my home. I greatly respect those who are willing to give their lives in service to their country (whether they agree with the cause or not). Realize that every time an American citizen spews negativity about a military situation, and generally shows a lack of support, they are not only spitting on their Commander in Chief, but the brave soldiers who are willing to die to protect them as well. It is, of course, ones right to do so, but it demeans the pride that every service member feels for the job that they are doing, and is something that should be considered before speaking."

Bravo to you -- that is what I and some others have been trying to get across and you did it in such an eloquent way. My husband - who was and is a Marine - always told me that the news back home afffected all of them in regards to protesting and such. He would never want that taken away obviously he spent many years in the USMC protecting those rights. But he did state that he felt and still does feel that they are spitting on the men & women who are protecting those same rights.

We don't always have to agree with our leaders - I certainly don't agree with everything Bush has done but solidarity is solidarity and that has to be shown for the troops sake.

"Isn't it amazing that these hollywood celebs continue to give their biased opinions and honestly think that a normal intelligent person would listen to them. Get real."

Well you just gave your biased opinion and this normal intelligent person actually read it. So why do they get anyless freedom of speech?

"But he did state that he felt and still does feel that they are spitting on the men & women who are protecting those same rights."

Well I'm sorry your husband feels that way. But it's a real shame he doesn't understand the difference between disagreeing with our governments policy and blaming the troops. Because I sure do. There's no way I blame or want anything less then the best for our soldiers over there. I just happen to think that getting them out of Iraq ASAP *is* whats best for them.

"We don't always have to agree with our leaders - I certainly don't agree with everything Bush has done but solidarity is solidarity and that has to be shown for the troops sake."

Unfortunately your idea of solidarity includes keeping our mouths shut and letting things we feel are wrong continue. That's not going to happen.

Un-American? Who said the US is the only country in the Americas? There is a north and south America, in case you haven't noticed. But OK, since your senator McCarthy coined the phrase for his HUAA committee back in the 50's, you can have that laughably quaint expression. It was, after all, used as a brandmark of disloyalty, a label attached to anyone suspected of being "pinko". It took you Americans a while but finally you saw the light and threw McCarthy and his gang out. If you want to resurrect the old expression you might want to define what it means first.

"Sounds like alot of people out there need to brush up on American history - those who forget history are doomed to repeat it." Sounds more like you need to brush on your 50's US history.

But nicecanadianlady said anti-american, not un-american....so your correction is out of place.

Go see the movie before you bad-mouth it. You might learn something.
