"He'll need to respond"

Ignoring moveon.org would show more class that replying with the same.

"Bush is countering that arguement by focusing on what is good."

His web site doesn't show that.

They aren't painting a negative image of America... they are painting a negative image of Bush's governance of America. This is the worst presidency of my lifetime, and there have been some bad ones... LBJ with Vietnam and related events (not social policy), Nixon, Carter, Reagan... Bush has surpassed all in ineptitude.

This was my problem with the ad.

"They aren't painting a negative image of America... "

The Kerry Misery Index does just that.

And Carter was much more inept than Bush.

Carter was/is a good man, just a very bad leader.

This particular ad showed how petty and low the people were with their personal attacks. Bush elevated himself above that level in the ad. Is that all you need to be reassured? No but it shows a difference of character and that is reassuring.

Wrong, again it shows lack of proper governance, not a failure of the American people.

Carter was five bazillion times better than Bush, and since Carter also was not effective, Bush might well be worst ever.

He didn't portray them as anything. He used their ads which portrayed anger and hatred. If you don't like the ads check with the DNC and their supporters.

"The ad tells me nothing new about Bush "

True

"only serves to confirm his arrogance."

Well ok, though I'm not sure how.
