Its a frickin film! You know...just like Armogeddon, The Day After Tomorrow, and Bowling For Columbine? No need to crap a farking brick over it. Its amazing how some people can get so worked up over another person's opinion. Its even more amazing that some people take HOLLYWOOD CREATIONS as truths! Yeah, I saw it. I laughed because I know that the film is skewed far left but he does make very good points. After I got out of the theater, two guys got into a brawl over it in the parking lot....over...a...frickin...MOVIE. And you wonder why some people have less and less faith in the American people? We're acting like morons over the most trivial stuff. No need to yell at other people to get out of the country, no need to proclaim the word of Michael Moore as truth. If you're so deadset on what you believe, then you can watch the film as entertainment and acknowledge its existence, right? Why do you get so offended by it? It always amuses me how people generally have the opinion of "Yeah I believe in freedom of speech as long as it conforms with what I believe in." In the words of my mother, "GROW UP!"

Moore is far more qualified to defend his movie than I. So here is the URL for his sources for 'Fahrenheit 9/11':

That is never a requirement when viewing art in any form.

<<"britstarlite said:>>>Those that like Moore's documentaries are very to the far left<< ...wow, I agree dublingrl, talk about a generalization, ">>.....yup...generalizations are everywhere....;)

<<"As to dj's links regarding moore claiming he wasn't attempting to make a political film, I have to surmise moore is either jesting, or pushing that little old controversy button on teh foreheads of conservatives, because lets face it the political nature of the documentary is GLARING ;) ">>.... oh and don't get me wrong, I too think it's glaring, it was MM who was quoted there. I claim that hé said it. I heard it and I read it and I saw it on Dutch TV (and he was seriously trying to make that point, after which I emailed him to ask about that....TG I didn't hold my breath for a response).

Not at all, alf is fine with me :)

>>oh and don't get me wrong, I too think it's glaring, it was MM who was quoted there<<

i know, I wasn't refuting your quote, like I said I suspect he was being rather facetous, after all nobody is that stupid they can't recognize the politcial nature of the film as you and I know, it is glaring.

I saw the film, some of it speaks for itself without much help from moore, some of it he has taken factual information to support his view (all people do that, included news media). Some of it he isn't fair, as in the scene with the senators (who were taken off guard with his question. I stated I don't believe it is fair to critisize senators for the career choices adult children make or don't make regarding a career in the military), but I have yet to see where he has lied in the film. Does that mean I agree with moore and the whole film? NO it doesn't, it means I thought the film asked some valid questions and expressed some concerns some people have, but I didn't agree with some of his examples to prove his reasoning.

Interesting how you could gather from the film that the congressman had family in the military...I didn't know until I started reading message boards and doing my reserach. I certainly do not remember the part where the congressman claimed he had family in Iraq...would you like to quote it? If you alone were able to gather that from the film, then you are certainly in the minority.

err because he said so in the film!!!!!!!!!!! remember the congressman says he has nephews in the military.

>>>I certainly do not remember the part where the congressman claimed he had family in Iraq..<<

he didn't, he said he had family in the military, I never claimed he said otherwise.

I don't consider Michael Isikoff to be an objective journalist.

This is not the first time he has written lies & rumours as 'fact'.

(Remember the Clinton witch hunt)

Hope everyone reads the link you posted.

I will take the views of Michael Isikoff over those of Michael Moore any day.

There is more truth (as backed up by the actual facts of the matter) in what Isikoff says about the film, than there is truth in the actual film.

If I dont trust the man in his movie, do you actually think that I am naive enough to take his defense of his own movie as truth?

Please......
