First-daughter Jenna Bush has tongues wagging -- and it started with her own.

President Bush's twin daughters Jenna and Barbara are campaigning with their father. Yesterday, during a stop in St. Louis, Jenna Bush stuck her tongue out at the media. She was sitting in the back seat of the presidential limo next to her father.

The 22-year-old graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, started smiling through the window at reporters and photographers and that is when she stuck out her tongue and began to laugh.

Before their first campaign swing with dad, first lady Laura Bush says she told her daughters to stand up straight and keep their hair out of their eyes. But Mrs. Bush apparently skipped the tongue thing.

Perhaps it was an ad lib promotion for Lynn Cheney's novel that they're trying to re-release?

I think we should string her up and publicly punish her for the audacity to act that way. It is because of young people like her that the moral fiber of our country is decaying and we should make an example out of her so that young people today learn to act completely dignified 24/7 and never act in such a way!! We must remember that the first family must be perfect and never should we consider them to be human. I just think it is funny that the story was considered newsworthy.

"dignified 24/7"

Maybe rude gestures SB saved for less public times & not when she's campaigning for her father.

A much younger Chelsea Clinton

< Maybe rude gestures SB saved for less public times & not when she's campaigning for her father. >

Or maybe give the young lady a break in the middle of what has to be a pretty difficult time. If she had shot them the middle finger, I might me offended, but she stuck out a tongue and was apparently laughing about it, so give her a break.

< A much younger Chelsea Clinton managed to present herself in a mature manner in public. >

I agree, Chelsea Clinton has always appeared in public without so much as a hair out of place. That doesn't mean that everyone should aspire to be just like her. The Bush girls are individuals with their own personalities and that is how Jenna chose to act goofy that die. God forbid someone actually enjoy themselves and crack a real smile during a campaign.

I'm all for one to point out things, LOL. Why is it that there is so much hypocrisy when it comes to pulling the party line? They said Clinton sucked because he got himself sucked, we've got Condoleeza Rice calling Bush her husband on national tv - where is the national inquiry (Ken Starr, where are you?). Then they said Clinton sucked because he smoked a little pot, Bush had a cocaine habit. They said Clinton sucked because he had some holdings that were questionable, Bush, oil, Haliburton. Now this. The latest from the Bush daughters is nothing really, but look how fast the party line comes to the defense, when they were so good on the offense. They expected Clinton to be perfect, but not one of their own??? Mmmmmm...

Of course it is newsworthy to the media. With their utter disdain for Bush, they want anything that appears to be negative towards him to print.

IMHO, the reason it made the news was because the Bush campaign has been trying so hard to present both daughters as 'grown up, mature, sophisticated young women'.
