I have been glued to the Olympics coverage all week. Your women gymnasts won the team event and your male 4x200m freestyle team wrested the gold medal off Australia in exciting style. Michael Phelps has hauled in 3 gold medals already !

Is the USA not very interested in Athens 2004 ?? I see no discussion of it on the boards. My son is over there now (in Baltimore) and he says you guys don't even get live TV coverage there ! Incredible - what gives ???

Oh, I am very interested in it and wish I could see more of it.

Not really although I do like to see the results, but my husband and I don't sit and watch tv much and I haven't watched daytime tv for years.

We've also been posting stories, questions, etc. about the Olympics on the Sports Talk messageboard as well.

I'm watching what I can, but I don't get any of the channels on which most of the events are broadcast, and what I do get isn't live. I can't afford the channels on which there may be live coverage. I saw men's all-around gymnastics last night - I'm actually surprised that Korea didn't get gold. They were pretty solid all night, and then everyone was messing up in the second half. It was painful to watch. I thought Paul Hamm was out of it after that fall on the vault, and then Yang Wei was in first place until he lost his grip on the high bar. It's so hard to watch when things like that happen. But I thought I'd let you know that there are some of us out that *do* watch and are very interested in the Olympics. I've just never thought to go online and post about it. This is my first time on this board, and that's just because my fiance asked if any of the message boards talk about the Olympics.

Thanks for the links to boards that are discussing the Olympics. I will definitely go there to get my fix.

AS for watching daytime TV - I don't't but we have free-to-air live Olympic coverage from 4 pm to 4 am daily on 2 channels, so there are a lot of late nights. I confess I have even set the alarm and get up in the middle of the night to watch finals !
