Russian children hostage

I have looked at many different boards, on many different sites on this and I am disturbed by the fact most people seem to be embracing hate. On one site people were advocating extermination of all musilims(sp?). Is any one else disturbed by this?

I think we can all agree that we want the children and other to come out of that school safely. Why don't we each spend a few minutes in prayer to our respective God or gods for the safety of these people and the sanity of our race. I find it so hard to understand anyone advocating the complete extermination of a religion, or group of people. We may not be able to change some of those attitudes, but we can sure as hell try. Compassion is indiginous to all isn't it?

There have been a lot of conflicting reports as to how many were killed or injured and the number of actual hostages has risen. As you said...it's just what we are all trying to scramble to read to understand because there is not much we can do to help. If anyone hears of any funds or any relieve efforts to send things to...please post it here. I have an 8 year old child who asked me what we could do to help and I would like to help him to do that.

It will take a few days or weeks to get the "real" facts. We are all shocked and appauled by this and the other poster was correct. A lot of these "terrorists, seperatist groups" have no reguard whatsoever for others. They look at what they are doing as a good thing and that is a state of mind that you just cannot reason with. In some sense, it's a war on a mindset that is ruthless and has no front or reguard for human life...even their own...because they died for their cause.

I am so disgusted beyond words, a school and all these darling children. I don't care what the cause or who they are, this type of act is so evil. unfortunately whether it is a chenen nationalist, ira, al queda, lords army, basque separatists, greek leftists, they justify their evil and it is almost impossible to imagine how on earth we can change this mentality.

As far as I know, we are doing all we can. We can pray for peace and talk to others, by having honest, open conversations with out seething hate. We need each other to encourage ourselves and others. When something so vile happens, it is hard not to hate, it's hard to not be afraid and it's hard to trust. I'm not immune. At some point one of you may have to tell me to stop and think. When things like this happens, it hurts and pain sucks.

Bailey,

oops...I didn't mean to answer to your post specifically, I was posting more info. and clicked yours. Let us all know if you or anyone else has heard anything more about what actually happened to these children in there. They are going to go through some pretty serious post tramatic stress at the very least.

I have been looking and listening for any relief efforts from the US or things for us to do and haven't heard...have any of you??

Darn. I was hoping that these WEREN'T muslims. It would be a lot more politically correct to be mad at them if they weren't. (Excuse my sarcasm).

I was watching the coverage just now, and it is heartbreaking.

Not a problem I was just a little confused since your first comment was posted twice. I have heard nothing new but to tell you the truth I will probably get my info in small doses for awhile. This situation is just so sad and so out of my hands. I can't imagine what these parents are going through right now. I agree with the media sources that say it will be quite awhile before the government and victims families know exactly what happened to make this situation go so bad so quickly.

I know...it's just unbelievable to comprehend. I held my children a little longer today and felt very bad that I was able to hug mine and say they are ok. These poor families can not say that. Even those who were among the survivers. Those children as well as the adults will have a long road of recovery ahead of them...including post tramatic stress, among other things.

It's just so, so upsetting. If I find anything or hear of any relief efforts that I have been looking for...I'll post it here.

I just can't understand their thought process. Even if their cause was just they've ruined any hope for sympathy by targeting children. They have also made a new generation of enemies. These children will never forget what they put them through and will most likely teach their own children to hate them and their children because of these actions. How senseless and horrific. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrorism.
