I have looked at many different boards, on many different sites on this and I am disturbed by the fact most people seem to be embracing hate. On one site people were advocating extermination of all musilims(sp?). Is any one else disturbed by this?

I think we can all agree that we want the children and other to come out of that school safely. Why don't we each spend a few minutes in prayer to our respective God or gods for the safety of these people and the sanity of our race. I find it so hard to understand anyone advocating the complete extermination of a religion, or group of people. We may not be able to change some of those attitudes, but we can sure as hell try. Compassion is indiginous to all isn't it?

Thinking of ourselves as only motivated by good intentions, we cannot fathom the possibility that we have demonized an innocent people, that what we are doing is murder on a vast scale."

Amen. God help us all.

An aside: After 9/11, we saw candlelight vigils held by hundreds of thousands around the world. Where are the American vigils for the Russian children?

My DD mentioned the same...so we have a special candle that we've been lighting every evening in remembrance.

We are numb to terriorism in other countries...I guess it only matters when it happens to US.....And to think people in this country wonder why those in other countries "hate" us.

I think you are half correct. The US as a whole seems that way, however, we on this board are US citizens and we all seem to care. Most of the posts have been about our concern over it, what can we do to help them and how all terrorism is bad.

I am also disturbed by the fact more and more people are embracing hate. Their is already to much hate in the world without people adding to it. What happened to those children was terrible and should never have happened, children should free safe in school not scared. Also we should spent time praying to our respective gods for the saftly of the kids/teachers in Russia. Also it does't matter to me what colour or race people are they should all be treated equally. People should try to understand people who are different to us rather than automacailly hating them without even trying to get/understand them. The children did not deserve what happened to them, let's just hope they can have some sort of normal life.
