The Drudgereport has a list of the top 10 news and media websites by U.S. marketshare. It appears the Drudgereport.com is the most popular non-corporate news website, and is by far the most searched non-corporate news website.

Another problem with this list is that they are mixing news aggregators with entities that actually engage in producing the news. Google New, Drudge and Yahoo and not the same type of new source as Fox News, NYT, CNN and MSNBC.

blogpulse hmm ... they may have decided to exclude the Drudgereport from consideration. It is a news gateway.

The Newspaper Association of America seems apoplectic about the #1 ranking of the Drudgereport over here - http://www.naa.org/blog/digitaledge/1/2008/03/Nielsen-Online-Names-Top-30-News-Sites.cfm

I suspect corporations don't much care for the Drudgereport. A one person show making large corporations look bad must be tough on the ego.
