PORTLAND, Ore. -- A trial has been delayed in the case of Carl and Raylene Worthington of Oregon City, who are charged with manslaughter in the death of their 15-month-old daughter.
The Worthingtons are one of two families in an Oregon City church who face charges because they chose faith healing over medicine and their children died.
The Worthingtons' trial had been scheduled to start Monday but was changed to accommodate a defense witness. They will go on trial June 23.
The couple belongs to Oregon City's Followers of Christ Church. According to church tradition, when members become ill, fellow worshippers pray and anoint them with oil.
