According to Speaker Pelosi "500 million Americans lose their jobs" without the economic recovery package.

I guess when you are thinking of spending so many trillions, it's tough to keep track of small numbers like millions. No wonder we need an economic stimulus package asap. Video (so you can see her saying it) is here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8hMJVXt09E

Don't we all misspeak once in awhile?

Remember McCain's Iraq Iran confusion corrected by Leiberman? I'll be kind & not even mention the gaffs of our former President.

PELOSI: What did I say, million?

WALLACE: Yes, 500 million. That would really be a recession.

PELOSI: Oh, no. Excuse me. Thank you for correcting me.

WALLACE: Yes.

PELOSI: It feels like 500 million. Five hundred thousand Americans will lose their jobs each month until we have a recovery package.

And Palin was apparently so terrified of misspeaking that she wouldn't even answer a question in the first place!

I think they're just "misunderestimating" her.

I imagine she's pretty flustered these days.

LOL

OT: But here are some other "Bushisms" if we wan't to really get critical of misspeaking politicians. I really love the following one myself.

Interesting, a statement from Speaker Pelosi must be forgiven and forgotten. At the same time, similar statements from Republicans are brought up by virtually every liberal poster in this thread.

Is forgive and forget reserved only for liberal Democrats?

Actually, I'm a moderate.

Just kind of pointing out how we have the pot calling the kettle black here, given that you seem to drag out EVERY mistatement or purported misdeed by the current administration as evidence of the terrible job they are doing when they are just getting started. You seem to want to forgive the past admin every mistake they made for the past eight years and drag the current one through the mud at any given opportunity.

Not that interesting if you consider context.

I found it interesting that a misstatement by Speaker Pelosi is forgiven instantly by every liberal in this thread, and at the same time, attacks against Republicans began.
