The gun was a gift from Daddy.

The 20-gauge shotgun an 11-year-old Pennsylvania boy used to blow away his father's pregnant fiancée was a Christmas present from his gun-loving dad, cops and family revealed Sunday.

Little Jordan Brown was being trained as a hunter by his father, Chris Brown, in the woods behind their farmhouse.

The Browns come from a long line of hunting enthusiasts. Even the victim, 26-year-old Kenzie Houk, had encouraged Chris to buy the boy his own gun.

Jordan is being charged as an adult in the killing of his stepmother-to-be in her bed Friday morning in their Wampum, Pa., home. She was eight months pregnant.

Jordan's lawyer, Dennis Elisco, said he plans to ask for the boy to be released on bail Monday and have the case moved to juvenile court.

Elisco says there's no clear motive for the shooting, and he maintains his client's innocence.

"I walked out of there thinking he was innocent," Elisco said after meeting with Jordan. "I believe the boy did not do this."

Lawrence County Warden Charles Adamo said his 300-person adult facility is not equipped to keep the boy much longer.

This is a very sad story. It involves innocent lives. An unborn was also killed. The father should also be tried. The boy is his responsibility. I would never give a kid a gun! That's stupid! There's no valid reason in doing that!
thanks,

You know, I understand that people teach their kids to hunt from that age (even if I have issues with it)...but what responsible parent wouldn't LOCK UP the gun when it's not in use?!?!?

As for the lawyer, if the kid didn't do it...who did?

"I would never give a kid a gun!"

Me neither. (I would never own one but that's another discussion.)

ITA.

Was the lawyer saying that in the boy's defence? If the boy did do it why? It's an odd occurrence out of the blue something must have triggered this act. (pun not intended)

I was wondering if the laywer was going to try & shift the blame to some 'unknown intruder'...or maybe even the father?

Did he do it or not? The lawyer seems to think he didn't.
What kind of parents teach their underage kids to shoot guns anyway? I guess parents like Sarah Palin's...
People that are parents of minors should consider purchasing a non lethal weapon such as a Taser, instead of a firearm.

Millions of good, law-abiding and safety-oriented parents, that's who.
