Jindal lied

Remember this (below), from Jindal during his Republican response speech?  His big story to illustrate the problem with big government?

Did not happen.  He wasn't even there.

"During Katrina, I visited Sheriff Harry Lee, a Democrat and a good friend of mine. When I walked into his makeshift office I'd never seen him so angry. He was yelling into the phone: 'Well, I'm the Sheriff and if you don't like it you can come and arrest me!' I asked him: 'Sheriff, what's got you so mad?' He told me that he had put out a call for volunteers to come with their boats to rescue people who were trapped on their rooftops by the floodwaters. The boats were all lined up ready to go - when some bureaucrat showed up and told them they couldn't go out on the water unless they had proof of insurance and registration. I told him, 'Sheriff, that's ridiculous.' And before I knew it, he was yelling into the phone: 'Congressman Jindal is here, and he says you can come and arrest him too!' Harry just told the boaters to ignore the bureaucrats and start rescuing people."

Remember Hillary Clinton's exaggeration about landing in Bosnia Under gunfire? Nowadays there's so much info.

Why do people do this to themselves?

You'd think in the days of youtube, that people would remember everything is documented. It's like Michelle Bachman who accused senators of being anti-American and then said she was "misquoted" and forgot it was on tape.

"as a biology major, he'd be more likely to embrace science"

Not sure about the science part. Of course one can't judge from one interview.

He came across to me as genuine & a real family man BUT...........

From page 3......

>"He's also religious and conservative. He supports the teaching of intelligent design, wants to get tough on illegal immigration, is against stem cell research and abortion rights, and yet continues to challenge his own party."<

"GOP can embrace someone like him, over someone like Sarah Palin"

I agree. She's an accident waiting to happen IMO. Carries too much garbage. Plus I am SO SICK of hearing about her.

He definitely checks off on the conservative wish list.

"It's one thing to believe in intelligent design but another to discount evolution, even if it seems contrary."

I totally understand. Besides he's a governor running a state with many challenges. Somethings are inconsequential when one looks at the big picture.
