David Lettermen show

I saw this on David Lettermen last night and he said something that made me mad. He said how Bristol Palin and her bf Levi Johnson broke up after their son was born. He made a comment about  (I think) they weren't ready for marriage and maybe (I think) Sarah Palin wasn't ready to be VP.

Excuse me? This crack about having a child out of wedlock and not being ready for marriage coming from a man who has been living with his girlfriend for years and years and having an out of wedlock son who is five years old.

I read in the paper today that DL is finally marrying her. This man is in the public eye, like Gov Palin,so why hasn't anyone gone after DL? or is there a double standard?

He probably meant that it wasn't good to marry in haste, that is why he(David Letterman) waited for all twenty three years to marry his girlfriend.

Palin is free to make jokes about Letterman's family and marital status too.

As I recall, people had plenty to say about DL not marrying the mother of his child. I remember an op-ed peice going on and on about "what message does that send a child, if a father won't commit to it's mother....oh the instability....." to paraphrase.

When Palin dragged her kids out in the public eye to prove how she was like every body else, they got to stay in the news. Just like DL being in the public eye gets to be the subject of peoples opinions as well. I'm actually a bit suprised he married his gf after all these years, child or no child.

Bristol P. has recently promoted herself as a public figure in her televised interview with Greta Van Susteren. If she doesn't want the public's attention she should lay low.

Letterman is a late night entertainer therefore most anything is fair game.

DL & his bride obviously had a secure relationship unlike teenagers that don't practice BC.

>""It's just us not, me not being mature enough, or something, and having a kid and thinking ... it could be better -- better for us to separate for a while," the 19-year-old Johnston said yesterday in a "Good Morning America" interview. He and Ms. Palin, 18, remain friends and he hopes they eventually reconcile."<

David Letterman is a grown man who makes a very good living. He is mature and well prepared financially to raise a child whether he is married or not. He has also been in this stable relationship for many years.

It would be silly to compare
