Regarding the Miss CA issue....

I did not see the show but days after I read what happened to the lady. I have to say several things here:

  1. Why in the first place this so called celebrity Perez Hilton was named judge? I thought the Miss USA organization name objective educated and professional people so they can become judges and not just any person who likes to be judge, because im famous, im  a gossiper and I have a site on the internet for instance

  2. The poor lady is been blamed just because she spoke her mind and that is how she was raised? Im sure that if her answer would have  been she supported gay marriage, also she would have created some controversy  because she will the first miss during a national pageant to say she supported gay marriage. Either way she will look bad to the audience and the country

  3.  Just because gay people nowadays have many rights does not mean the rights heterosexual no longer count.

  4.  You have to respect her decision, as Im sure if her answer was she supported gay marriage Im sure she will ask for the same in return: respect. She was raised like that,  she still have values, when nowadays many people don’t even have she firmly believes in marriage between a man and a woman, what is bad about that?? That is how she sees it.

  5. I don’t think she has to give up her crown or that the organization scold her just because she spoke her mind, she was asked a question, she answered honestly what she think was correct the way she was raised. If people want to blame somebody then blame her mom for raising her like that, if that is the case. IMHO

I don't think that is why she'd be removed if she was to be removed.

Welcome to the board :)

She posed semi-nude for photos and broke other rules of the pageant, so might be asked to step down.

1) It's a fluff beauty pageant that gets low ratings. They'll do anything they can do get better ones, including having celebrities.

<< If you're old enough to get fake boobs and pose nude, you're old enough to develop and accept responsibility for your views instead of blaming the parents.>>

She is one of MANY of the contestants with breast augmentation so why is the press singling her out for this? She is also one of a few contestants that have posed nude in the past. But, the media singles her out for some reason. Hmmmm....I see a pattern here.

I don't believe she "blamed" her parents for her views.

President Obama also said that HE believes a marriage should be between one man and one woman. Why is the gay community not calling HIM every name in the book? Why is the media not tearing HIM to shreds?

IMO....Perez Hilton is a complete idiot moron and doesn't do the gay community any favors.

She will keep her crown despite her contractual lapses. As for the breast augmentation, the controversy wasn't that she HAS HAD breast augmentation, but that the pageant PAID FOR the surgery. Either way, she retains her crown. The issue wasn't gay marriage, it was her alleged violation of her contractual obligation.

What???? The issue most certainly WAS gay marriage. If she had given the answer that the gay community wanted....NONE of this would be an issue. BUT, because she answered honestly and it was an answer that Perez Hilton and the gay community didn't like, they raked her over the coals. They called her horrible names and tried everything in their power to bash this woman.

Do you not find it an odd coincidence that the pictures of her just all of a sudden surfaced? There are SEVERAL Miss USA contestants with nude pictures...but none of them are in the media??? I wonder why???

This was the most despicable display of hatred from the gay community that I have ever seen. I wonder why they didn't bash Obama when he gave the SAME answer as her. You don't find that the least bit interesting? Perez Hilton certainly didn't skewer Obama on his blog site like he did Miss CA.

No...she signed a contract saying that she would represent the people of California. After the pageant, she went out and gave a number of divisive political speeches. She was not going to be fired for the words she spoke in answer to the judges' question during the pageant, though that probably didn't help her as far as actually winning/losing the pageant. She could have been fired for breaking her contract, but Trump determined that he didn't want to do that, and it was entirely his call. The old photos didn't help as they contributed to a second angle - the failure to disclose those photos on her questionnaire. That also seemed to not be a problem for Trump. And the "issue" with the breast implants was a non-issue as the pageant paid for the breast augmentation surgery.

You keep bringing up Obama's stance on same-sex marriage, so -

The OP was the one to blame her upbringing for her response and I was responding to that.

I am disappointed in the stance he has taken and I don't think he believes it but is being political.
