Steve McNair, former Quarterback if the Tenn. Titans, was found dead in his Apt. with another person. They don't know if it was a murder-suicide or a homicide. This is just breaking news.

You ask some good questions.

A few months ago, a woman posted late at night, said she'd taken some pills to kill herself.

A little over 20 years ago my wife and I got a call from her only brother. It was late and we were both asleep when the phone rang. After my DW talked to him for a few minutes, she gave the phone to me. You see, her brother, at that time, was my best friend, and not just some BIL to be bothered by. Anyway, we talked and laughed for maybe 20 minutes, then made tee times for golf that following weekend. He and his wife lived about 150 miles away, but we spent weekends at one another's houses at least monthly during those days. He appeared to be so happy and carefree.

The rest of the story is that I got a knock on the door about 3 nights later from another BIL who lived close by our house then. He and my wife's sister told us the terrible news that my buddy, my best friend, and fellow Navy mate killed himself earlier that evening. I have often thought about what went through my mind right then......because I can remember the pain, the gut wrenching pain a person may only experience from the death of a son or daughter, but I felt that as I hugged my BIL and we both weeped on the other's shoulder for what seemed like an eternity. I hope I never have to feel that lonely, and that upset the remainder of my life.

I beat myself up for years over the things I should have done, or said, to prevent that tragedy from happening. Finally, I realized there was nothing for me to do. If he had reached out and asked for my help, I would have gladly given it to him. But there are some cases, like my BIL's, where there is zero warning signs to read in advance.

In your case, you tried to step in and help a total stranger in their time of need. Don't ever allow anyone to bully you, or threaten you, to keep your nose out of it. Good for you that you remained strong and took a stand. My heartfelt congrats to you. The world needs more like you.

WASHINGTON – Federal agents have arrested a convicted murderer for allegedly providing the gun later used to kill ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair.

Adrian J. Gilliam Jr. was arrested by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

A criminal complaint unsealed Friday in Nashville says that Gilliam — who was convicted of murder and attempted armed robbery in 1993 in Florida — admitted he sold the gun to the woman who later shot McNair.

McNair was shot to death on July 4 at his condo by his 20-year-old mistress Sahel Kazemi, who then turned the gun on herself.

The complaint, signed by ATF agent Mickey French, charges Gilliam with illegally possessing a firearm, which he is barred from doing as a felon.

Detectives traced the gun to its 2002 sale at a pawn shop, according to the complaint. Gilliam eventually bought it from an individual for $100 about a year ago. According to court documents, Gilliam admitted to detectives he sold the gun to Kazemi for $100.

Federal prosecutors in Nashville planned to announce the case at a press conference later Friday.

Police announced in a news conference last week that Kazemi purchased "a fully loaded nine millimeter pistol from a private individual" who met her in the parking lot of the mall where she worked at a Dave & Busters restaurant.

Kazemi met the person when she was trying to sell her car. She mentioned to him that she was looking to buy a gun and he told her he had one for sale, police said. The sale took place two days before McNair's shooting.

Authorities believe McNair was asleep when Kazemi put the pistol to his head and pulled the trigger. She put two more slugs into his chest and a fourth bullet into the other side of his head before shooting herself.

McNair, a married father of four, walked away from the NFL last year. "Air McNair" was known as a gutsy quarterback who played through serious injuries and led his Tennessee Titans to a Super Bowl.

Though the gun sale in question did not involve a licensed gun dealer, the ATF recently warned all gun dealers in Tennessee that they must still comply with federal gun laws despite a new state law aimed at easing such requirements for weapons manufactured and sold in-state.

Terrible what she did to him, I agree. That said, I put the blame on him more than her. She, evidently, had some serious emotional issues that surfaced after she met McNair. He was the one that was married, not her. He was the one with 4 sons, not her. He had the illustrous career, not her. He had everything to lose in that affair, not her.

She showed the world what an emotionally unstable person is capable of doing when lied to, embarrassed, humiliated, and told there was a future for her far brighter than the one she had before meeting Steve McNair. Shame on him for deceiving her, and giving false hope of a better day ahead. He didn't even show her the respect of walking back to the patrol car and check on her the night they were both pulled over and she was issued a DUI citation. He should have been the one driving and not her if he was any kind of gentleman. I lost all respect for Air McNair right then and there. He turned out to be nothing more than an over-ego'd, selfish prima donna like so many other current and former athletes.

Sorry, but that's how I look at him now. I feel sorrow for that young lady who ruined her life right along with his. Yes, she showed little heart by killing him in his sleep, I will give you that. But the circumstances leading up to that night were all his doing IMHO. God rest both their souls. He was the whore, not her.

**He was the whore, not her.**

I have to agree with you fully on that.

There is this with McNair. There is Sanford. Who not only has cheated on his wife and children, but has had to go even farther and publicly announce how it was a "love story" and the woman was his "soul mate." So not enough to cheat on his good wife, but he has to publicly humilitae her as deeply as possible, twist the knife and pour salt in the wounds. Then Ensigns family gave his mistress hundreds of thousands of dollars.

It's like these men can't be happy just having their cake and eating it too.

Then they were both whores!

But only one was a killer.
