It's Edwards, Again...

Whether it's true or not is yet to be seen, of course.

I didn't know that it was National Enquirer that busted him about the affair... so maybe they're onto this, also.

Report: John Edwards to Admit He Fathered Mistress' Daughter
The news comes one day after the National Enquirer reported that a secret DNA test proved his paternity.

WRAL says sources told the station Edwards' public admission could come before the end of the ongoing criminal investigation into whether his campaign illegally paid the woman, campaign videographer Rielle Hunter, to keep quiet about their affair.

The news comes a day after the National Enquirer reported that a secret DNA test proved Edwards' paternity.

The Enquirer, which last year broke the story of Edwards' affair with Hunter, said the test was taken after Hunter tried to get financial help from Edwards for her 18-month-old daughter, Frances.

Hunter apparently agreed to testify to a federal grand jury investigating whether Edwards broke campaign finance law by paying "hush" money to Hunter and another aide who claimed paternity of the child. Hunter was spotted last week in Raleigh, N.C., entering a federal courthouse, where she spent nine hours.

Edwards adamantly denied during a confessional interview with ABC News last summer that he had fathered a child with Hunter, and he said he welcomed a paternity test. His wife, Elizabeth, has said while promoting her book that she doesn't know if her husband is the father.

Former Edwards aide Andrew Young, who made a similar courthouse visit while the grand jury was sitting last month, said in 2007 he was the child's father. Hunter said around the same time that Young was the father and the birth certificate does not list a father's name.

Edwards has admitted to an affair with Hunter that he says ended in 2006. That year, Edwards' political action committee paid Hunter's video production firm $100,000 for work. Then the committee paid another $14,086 on April 1, 2007.

Edwards, a North Carolina senator from 1998 until his vice presidential bid in 2004, acknowledged in May that federal investigators are looking into how he used campaign funds. Grand jury proceedings are secret, and the U.S. attorney's office in Raleigh has declined to confirm or deny an investigation.

Young hasn't spoken publicly since saying he was the father in 2007.

Yes, it most definitely was the Enquirer who broke the story about his affair....the reason I know is that I'm a regular reader (I know, I know, what a waste of time and energy....lol).

It will come out shortly that Edwards did, in fact, father that child, and that he did promise the mistress they would share a life together once his wife dies from cancer.

He's so repulsive I get sick thinking about him. Young's wife is about to blow the lid off things I heard. She knows the truth. She knows her husband lied to protect Edwards.

People have affairs for a variety of reasons. I am not judgmental toward anyone who does. That's their private life and I don't care to know why they acted the way they did.

The fact that he began his while his wife was undergoing cancer treatment bugs me, I'll admit. Then to deceive the nation by keeping it hush-hush while he was making his presidential run shows his true character. Whatever penalties he incurs over this is justified in my eyes.

What will his grown children think of a father who would immediately take on

The following story still gives me the creeps, even after 18 years.....

I was in a bar restroom in a stall.

Fry him. He figuratively did it to his wife! How would you feel after being diagnosed with cancer and then finding this out?

I'd feel as if I had wasted my entire adult life living with someone who turned out to be nothing what I thought he/she was when I married them.

Elizabeth at the very least deserved a good final year of her life to be lived in peace, surrounded by her family, and not having to answer all these personal questions concerning how she feels to be married to a rat like her hubby. How draining that must be for her, to say nothing of the humiliation and embarrassment she must endure each and every day. God bless her.

Well, I'm not surprised when the "dirt" on any politician, finally is made public. I think anyone getting high enough on the "food chain" in politics to be in a position of some power, are tainted. They have already made choices that damage their personal integrity, in order to move up the political ranks. The irony is, to me, that in this day & age where nothing can really be kept "secret" any more, that these idiots think nobody will ever find them out. (eye roll)
