A question for the Cons on this board.

Asking an honest question, not trying to throw darts or anything, but having now heard the POTUS speech to our school children,

Which part of the speech was the most offensive to you?

What part did you consider was along the lines of brainwashing the children?

If you kept your kids out of school, which part of the speech are you glad that you kept your children from hearing?

Thanks for your input.

I'm not convinced that there are far more liberals than conservatives on iVillage. It doesn't seem that way to me.

But then, I'm not convinced the MSM is liberal either.

This is the only board I go to, other than workout ones so I have no idea what the ratio is. But, come to think of it, there was a brief board about Katrina and there were quite a few posters, the majority it seemed, who thought Bush was doing a bang up job there.

Being a conservative that votes Democrat, I hardly consider you a conservative based on your posts. You're more of an Obama hater than I ever was a Bush hater. In fact, I applauded Bush during the entire 9/11 disaster, and the way he handled it. It was only after he took many positives and turned them into glaring negatives that I had no use for him, and the Republican party as a whole.

There are many conservatives that post on iV. Some are not blatantly biased toward what Obama is trying to do to resurrect this nation's credibility and reputation like many others are. I honestly believe much of it stems from racial bias, although that will NEVER be admitted to by the guilty parties.

It's refreshing to hear differing points of view from all people. Much knowledge can be gained by that. Why can't both sides work harder to reach a common ground anymore? Why do so many "conservatives" spew hatred and spread lies toward and about anyone Democratic? It never used to be as bad as it is now IMO. The haters and the fear mongerers have one agenda, and one agenda only.....and that is to do whatever it takes to throw roadblocks and hurdles up in order to prevent Obama from doing the job he was elected to do.....a majority of this country's voters decided it was high time we had change.....the majority of us were tired of the games the Republicans were playing. It's a new administration with new views on how to make this country strong again. Come on aboard the train with us postreply......who knows, you may actually enjoy the ride...:)))

A word of warning. When ever posting, don't use the word "you". Some take it as an attack. And ya might get dinged.

Thank you for the advice. I truly didn't mean it as an "attack", but I can see now that it could be taken as such. My apologies to postreply if I was out of line. I guess I just get very frustrated about how this country is so divided now that I react to it in ways I should know better. Thanks again ohearto. On another note though, we barely made it past the Midshipmen.....now can the Bucks muster up a huge effort against the Trojans this Saturday night and help regain some of their pride and reputation back? We'll see huh. I'm going to be cheering them on with about 20 of my friends.....it'll be a wild night....whoooo hoooo!!

Some can be very touchy. So I try to re-read all my post and take out things. Some times I forget to add other stuff and then the post make no sense. LOL.

I don't know. Boy O Boy, I'm very concerned about the Bucks. Their defense was awful. I hope Tressal has a few tricks up his sleeve. But then the first game is usually pretty Ugly. If we can win this week, we should have a great season.

I think that's one reason Rep Greer from Fl impressed me as I posted in the other thread. Too many people these days refuse to admit there might be even an inkling of good on the other side and that's really sad. There are definitely differences in ideology but if you choose to see people who are different as evil, then there is no place to talk and find common ground.

That's exactly right what you wrote here. Sean Hannity of Fox Snooze hasn't anything kind to say about the left.....ever. His followers feed off that I believe and figure they simply CANNOT ever say a kind word about their "opposition". Ann Coulter and Rush are others that fall into the same category.

I try to judge politicians on their merits. What ideology they stand for makes no difference. If they're good, honest, hard working folks trying to serve their country in any way they can, then I give them my total respect and admiration. Many Republicans have been in that select group in my opinion. And I haven't been shy about stating that to many of my right wing friends over the years. Funny though, I never get any positive feedback from them about a left winger. Is it because there are none I ask? Hardly. It's just a different mindset anymore. It's always "socialists", "do-nothings", "welfare lovers", "doves", "big spenders", etc. Never a kind word to say about anything left or liberal. Even the word liberal has now been transformed into a type of word used to define someone not worthy to discuss political views because they're not smart enough, wise enough, rich enough to have any merit whatsoever.

I'll have to check out the other thread concerning Greer, because I know nothing about him. Thank you.

All boards take on a "flavor" depending on who inhabits them. If you know the boards here are mostly liberal, why do you continue to post articles that you know will get chewed to pieces?
