Do you agree with Carter?

Former president Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that he believes race is at the core of much of the opposition to President Obama.
"I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African American," Carter told NBC in an interview. "I live in the South, and I've seen the South come a long way, and I've seen the rest of the country that shared the South's attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African Americans"
Continued Carter: "And that racism inclination still exists. . . . It's an abominable circumstance, and it grieves me and concerns me very deeply."
The 39th president also predicted that Obama will be able to "triumph over the racist attitude that is the basis for the negative environment that we see so vividly demonstrated in public affairs in recent days."
See the following videos. I've never heard so much ignorance. Most don't appear to know why or what they're protesting & can't back-up the 'catch phrases' they're parroting. These people vote! Now that's scary.....

"Just because it works for YOU, doesn't mean it works for everyone. You seem to be overlooking the millions who can't afford private insurance. You can. Good for you. Be grateful you can afford it. Be grateful you aren't working at McDonald's or waitressing at a restaurant or driving a school bus or cashiering at the grocery store or mowing lawns or doing many of the millions of job Americans do that hardly pay enough as it is, much less pay enough for what insurance companies charge."
How will these people who allegedly can't afford the premiums private companies charge pay the premiums they will be charged to belong to BO's new government program? If they can not pay those premiums, who will pay them?
The problem isn't racism, it's conservatism.
~If you read any message board where people can be anonymous, there's just this seething rage that seems like it's about to explode.~
I have noticed that as well.

No, it would be of only wanting what is good for you and all who feel like you do."
I feel that way about many who push for government-run healthcare.
While I agree that racism most likely isn't the main reason, it's not just conservatism.
"If this statement is a problem for you, you need to discuss it with the person who said it. His name is Barack Obama."
I will say this......you're correct in that he did say this during one of the debates I believe, or possibly on the campaign trail. People will say anything to get elected, as you surely must know. The lies and hateful things people have said concerning public health reform shouldn't in any way be compared to what Obama said. In fact, after 8 years of the former regime, who could honestly say "give me 8 more years of that?"
I am completely on board with the posters who have said that

So we shouldn't believe anything BO says?
"The lies and hateful things people have said concerning public health reform shouldn't in any way be compared to what Obama said. "
Why not? Those of us who don't want BO's health care reform are to be responsible for what they say, but poooor BO shouldn't?
"In fact, after 8 years of the former regime, who could honestly say "give me 8 more years of that?"
Not relevant, BO is here, President Bush and his administration are not in power.
"So we shouldn't believe anything BO says?"
Campaign promises--could have been worst. He could have said, "Read my lips, no new taxes."
"I am completely on board with the posters who have said that many people are very fortunate to have good medical coverage, just as I do."
I am not. This inevitably sounds like there are insurance fairies flittering about that touch some fortunate souls with their magic wands, thus giving them health insurance. Many advocates of government-run healthcare never give anyone any credit for their work to obtain insurance,
