6 Year Old Alone In Hot Air Balloon

I have MSNBC on in the background right now. They are following a KUSA news feed of helium-filled experimental balloon that is loose over Colorado with a lone 6 year old boy inside. The balloon is spinning and tilting and traveling right now at about 6000 to 8500 feet at 20 to 25 mph. I know I shouldn't watch, but this has just grabbed my attention. I hope that authorities with a knowledge of balloons can figure out how to rescue this little child. The balloon is capable of rising to 10,000 or more feet where it is cold and there is less oxygen for the child. Experts are saying that they cannot use helicopters to get near the balloon for fear of sucking the balloon into the blades. If this balloon hits the ground at that speed, the child will be seriously injured if not killed. If you've got a minute, please say a prayer for that little boy, cold, scared and spinning/tilting in that balloon.

Article about the boy getting sick on news interviews.
What is wrong with these people? Even if it weren't a stunt, this kid is showing signs of stress. I have a 5 1/2 year old. I couldn't imagine putting her under such scrutiny, after she pulled any kind of "mistake" of this magnitude, if that was what it was. We would be home, answering the nice policemans questions, having warm cider, baking cookies, and calming down. We certainly wouldn't be dragging a vomiting child around, to different news agencies. I'm sorry, this is a case of emotional abuse happening in the public eye. The news agencies are in it by proxy. The kid should be in protective custody, IMO.
"The news agencies are in it by proxy."
These 'sensation' type news items are drained of interest after the first 24 hr. cycle but that doesn't stop the 'investigative journalism' digging away.
I watched this story yesterday and read several news articles with comment sections. Many of the comments were about having the family pay for the expenses of the search and rescue. Many other comments said things like, "Our tax dollars are already paying for such things". And, they are, BUT... several years ago I had a childhood friend who was in a mountain climbing accident. He was an experienced climber and was not hiking alone, but there was an avalanche. He was killed. The family had to pay for the search and rescue efforts. (I believe it was either in Washington or Oregon).
So the whole time I've been reading these articles and comments, I've been asking why the family of my friend, who was killed, had to pay their search and rescue "bill", yet this family is not going to have to pay. Are there different standards in different states?
(BTW, I think the father has anger and control issues. I've seen WifeSwap twice, and their show was one of the episodes I saw. Couple that with the expletive-laden "music" video, and the way he treats women... well, he's not too high up on my list.)
They are still reporting on this today. Ugh! They know the boy was never in that balloon. They know he was found and he is safe. What are they trying to distract us from?
I admit, I have not followed the whole story. I saw it on the news, the balloon hand landed & they throught he had fallen out some where during the flight.
Lets face it 1+1 does not
I saw on the news a little while ago where Heene has been contacting TV stations for at least 2 years trying to get his own reality tv show about a family that does science experiments.
