Farrakhan suspicious of H1N1 vaccine

MEMPHIS, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan told an audience in Memphis he believes the H1N1 flu vaccine was developed to kill people, a witness said.

Farrakhan, 76, spoke for nearly three hours Sunday at a gathering to observe the religious group's Holy Day of Atonement, which also marked the 14th anniversary of the Million Man March in Washington, the (Memphis) Commercial Appeal reported, citing a source who attended the speech.

"The Earth can't take 6.5 billion people. We just can't feed that many. So what are you going to do? Kill as many as you can. We have to develop a science that kills them and makes it look as though they died from some disease," Farrakhan said, adding that many wise people won't take the vaccine.

"The black community has become toxic and must cleanse and restore peace from within," Farrakhan said.

Farrakhan told listeners not to become complacent as a result of Barack Obama's election as the United States' first black president, the newspaper said.

"You have to understand that he was voted in to take on the affairs of a nation, not yours and mine. He is the American president, not the black president," he said.

This is coming from a Nation of Islam minister.  Is THIS what Islam teaches?

Nutty and paranoid. If he chooses to not be immunized, so be it. That means that there will be more vaccine for the rest of us.

Yep, my sentiments exactly. I'm hoping since people are so afraid of the vaccine that the health department in my city will start vaccinating other than just the priority groups. My kids got theirs, but DH and I have to wait until they open it up to us.

On the local news tonight, there was a woman who has formed a local group to oppose the city of Baltimore's free H1N1 vaccination clinics. She is convinced that it is a government conspiracy of some sorts. The interviewing reporter couldn't get her to explain what conspiracy, and asked her why she and her group are protesting since nobody is forced to have the vaccination. She couldn't answer, but she was sure it was a conspiracy, and she felt it necessary to stand outside of free immunization clinics holding a sign saying that this virus is all a government conspiracy. The reporter asked her if this was political. She assured the reporter that this isn't political. She said that the country got a new president, and all of a sudden there is this pandemic flu right at the same time that the government is doing health care reform. It was a strange coincidence in her viewpoint. She said that the vaccine is a conspiracy too. The reporter then had this "look" on her face (a picture is worth a thousand words) and said, "back to you, Rod." Ugh...there are some strange people out there.

Yeah, well, what else is new?

"Farrakhan is a lunatic!"

As far as the vaccine, there are also people who think that it is a ploy to inject us all with a tracking device. Farrakhan is not the only paranoid walking among us.

The Nation of Islam is Muslim in name only. What they teach does not really mesh with anything taught by any branch of Islam. I would assume that most other Muslims consider them heretics, but I don't know.

Apparently there is a tiny device that can be implanted under your skin and which has all your medical records on it. It has been tried out for alzheimer's patients supposedly. Some of these people think that the vaccine is a ploy to implant these things in all of us, so the government can control us somehow. As you say, it is quite crazy.

Here is the sort of article that may have fueled these fears:

Oh well! I think Farrakhan also believed that AIDS was a virus produced by the government to kill off black people.

The funny thing about this is the size of the chip (12 mm x 2 mm). They say it is about the size of a grain of rice, but that's a mighty big piece of rice! Anyway, the size of the needle to insert it under the skin is huge. There is no way that the "government" would be able to implant something like that in a person without them knowing about it. Also, I don't believe the chip has the actual medical records, but rather when a scanner is run over the chip, it reveals a number which then can be used to access the records via computer.

My dad uses the same type of chip to mark animals he is studying. I got a chance to see these chips up close and personal over the summer while working with him.

Oh, I know. But that is what some people believe.

LOL! I know YOU know. It was more for any lurkers out there. It's really strange how some people out there who come up with these crazy "theories" haven't done even the most basic research into what it would entail for the government to carry out their evil plan.

eta: I really wish the "evil grin" icon didn't look like an angry devil.

I wonder what his claim would be if they wouldn't allow African Americans to get the vaccine?
