What would you ask Sarah Palin?
| Thu, 11-12-2009 - 12:50pm |
Although it looked like this interview might not happen, Sarah Palin is scheduled to appear on Oprah this Monday. We'd love to know if you'll be watching and what you're hoping Oprah will ask the former governor and VP candidate? What would you ask?

I like you.
I was actually going to write that Sarah Palin is an idiot, but Tigerpz beat me to it and said it much more eloquently.
"the thread is about Sarah Palin and that's why people are commenting on her."
Exactly!
I think that perhaps Biden was chosen by Obama as the anti-Cheney. Joe comes across as garrulous, on-the-mind-out-the-mouth and therefore, transparent. He seldom misses a chance to open his mouth and insert his foot. But....neither is he the sinister, ruthless, and Machiavellian puppet master--at least to outward appearances. And if outward appearances are deceiving then Biden is even more Machiavellian than Cheney! Who knows, perhaps McCain picked Palin for similar reasons.
And give Joe his due. Unlike Palin, he didn't quit his elected job to write a book and make millions. My father, a staunch conservative and Republican, was quite emphatic that Palin's decision to resign from her position as governor of Alaska was the sign of somebody who lacks gumption and persistence. My perception is that Palin lacks the curiosity, critical thinking, and ability to perceive nuance that tends to characterize sound intellect. No guts, no intelligence, just folksy foolishness and remarkable lack of ability to speak clearly or cogently. If she looked like a frump, am guessing that she'd be an also-ran.
Edited to correct a homonym and add a sentence.

Regarding the comment that "the liberals on these boards look for someone to kick around"......sounds remarkably like a speech by a then-failed candidate for California governor who had aspirations to bigger and better things but was feeling inordinately sorry for himself. When all else fails, play the victim card. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb5NV4KtTC8 He ultimately decided to return to public office and do more than a little bullying of his own.
I don't need to bring Palin down to make myself feel better. Ascribing any criticism of her to oneupmanship is facile, too general, and wrong, wrong, wrong. BTW, when it's no longer possible to make observations that political figures are all-too-often fallible and have feet made of clay, then the day will have come to say "goodbye" to democracy and say "hello" to spineless, gutless, and uncritical despotism.

Tisk, tisk...isn't using my username in this thread a clear violation of TOS?
No.
>>But put in a cutesy, fluff-headed ex-beauty pagent bimbo and you got yourself a winner.<<
You might be onto something there, and it’s sad.
