Could the publics love affair with the One be diminishing?

Story from - http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19.

Today is the second straight day that Obama’s Approval Index rating has fallen to a new low. Prior to the past two days, the Approval Index had never fallen below -15 during Obama’s time in office (see trends).

The 23% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded. Just 41% of Democrats Strongly Approve while 69% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 21% Strongly Approve and 49% Strongly Disapprove.

Among those who consider the economy to be the most important issue, just 26% Strongly Approve of the President’s performance while 39% Strongly Disapprove.

Among those who consider fiscal policy issues the most important, just 1% Strongly Approve and 81% Strongly Disapprove.

The President’s Approval Index rating is -2 among voters under 30 and -29 among senior citizens. From an income perspective, the President’s ratings are weakest among those who earn $40,000 to $100,000 annually.

Check out our review of the week’s key polls to see “What They Told Us.”

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.

Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove.

I doubt anyone could become president in this country and be wildly popular with everyone. From what I've seen, if Obama sneezes it's wrong and he's ripped apart and we're told that he probably has the Black Plague and we're all going to die.

Are there things he could do differently? I believe so, but we could say that about every president. For what it's worth, I think he's been more involved in running the country than

Maybe he needs to use the plunger to unclog the $700,000,000,000 stimulus money he flushed down it.

Maybe after the $700,000,000,000 TARP money and the $400,000,000,000 Omnibus bill the poor toilet just couldn't take it anymore.

Especially when that poor toilet is looking at the $1,000,000,000,000 healthcare reform bill which is nothing more than a giant gift to the insurance companies.

Maybe if our previous leaders hadn't put us so in debt to begin with we might have money for healthcare. Where were all the complaints several years ago when money was flowing out of America and into the Middle East like water? Why is it that when money's going overseas no one says a word; but if American tax dollars are spent on Americans we think it will cause economic doom.

"Could the publics love affair with the One be diminishing?"

You're too funny, you know!! He inherited a complete and total mess, gets absolutely no help from the right, and yet he's crucified for not doing more. Give me a break. Thank god Bush is gone and McCain wasn't elected. The One, as you referred to Obama, will continue to be bashed by the right wing talking heads, regardless of what he attempts to do. I heard last night on The Factor, Laura Ingraham bashing Bill O'Reilly for him

I, personally find these polls, odd. I have wondered how factual they are. I gave up my land line about 4 years ago. I have never received a single poll question. Even during the recent campaign. So how many others have only a cell phone as their only phone?

I have always thought of the Republican-Democrat office holders as the same as a Circus. The Elephants come to town. Leave a big mess. Someone has to go through and clean up the mess. ;-)

One of the reasons Americans voted for him was because he promised to offer healthcare to ALL citizens, now that it seems that steps are being taken on this promise, they are angry about it...
