Regarding the disaster in Haiti-- why isn't emergency food, water and basic medical being parachuted in to the people  until it can be more properly distributed? --- This has been done in other countries and the air craft need not even land.

Because it happened quickly. When they drop food and water to other countries they usually have it planned out weeks and months before they drop the food and water. I live in new orleans and during Katrina the resources just were not available.

because everyone knows that Obama has already spent WAY more time on the golf course in his one year in office than Bush has in his 8 years!

I haven't heard anything like this.

((I haven't heard anything like this. Do you have a link?))

Really? I guess the mainstream media doesn't like to report such things. Ah well...

But sure....here is a link for you. There are many more if you just google it. ;-)

Why am I not surprised that your link doesn't support your statement of:

because everyone knows that Obama has already spent WAY more time on the golf course in his one year in office than Bush has in his 8 years!

Your link states:

Different views--I thought it was wonderful in the past when GW Bush pulled his father and Clinton together to get past partisanship to pull together support for different causes, like post-tsunami. Both were critical of each other during the elections and after. Criticism from both parties aside for either ex-president, was pushed aside for the better good. It's sad to see partisanship makes it impossible for some to see this, especially in the face of this disaster. Hatred taking the place of humanity is what some of have come.

It's so hard being so helpless. I felt the same way w/ the tsunami--you can't help the people who've died but there are people who will do, no matter what we do, because we can't reach them. Donations, while important, feel so removed.

Yeah, I'm sure Obama has spent far more time on the basketball courts, too, than Bush did. Bush supposedly gave up golf during the Iraq War as a show of solidarity for the soldiers, except...when he didn't. Meanwhile, how many days of vacation did Bush take before 9/11? Far more than any other president, including Obama. I don't know how time spent on the golf course became the litmus test for amount of vacation time taken. Perhaps non-golfers can now use this as a defense for how hard they're working, "I spent far less time on the golf course than my golfer colleagues."
