Former presidential candidate John Edwards abandoned his long denial that he had fathered a child during an affair with a campaign aide and admitted today that he is the father of the almost 2-year-old girl.

"I am Quinn's father," Edwards said in the bombshell statement this morning. "I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves.

The former senator and presidential hopeful had an affair with campaign cinematographer Rielle Hunter, 42, and she later give birth to Frances Quinn.

I think it was simply the fact that they resemble one another, and they both have smiles that sometimes don't appear to be "genuine"?? That was how I read the post anyway.

They both seem to have the idea that they can just flash their smile, with the right hair, and win people over by showing it. It seems not calculated but almost expected.

**They both should have thought about their child and also John's other kids before doing something so stupid.**

That would require forethought and consideration of the fallout to others. If they even had the ability to do that in the first place, none of this would have ever happened. I don't think either of them really thought of anyone but themselves in all of this. They aren't "stupid," just self centered, lacking empathy for others,

I watched part of the interview last night. It almost made me ill. Money, Money, If this is what it does to people than I guess I can take being poor. That Andrew Young and his wife, I really feel NO sympathy for them. Anyone that would lie for a cheater is just as guilty. I don't know that I believe everything that was said. I didn't watch the whole thing.

I did believe him when he said that JE brought that woman into his bed. I had the same thing happen. My first husband brought one of his who*** to our house and in our bed. When I found out, he and the bed were sat out on the curb!

Now Andrew Young and his wife want to make money off of Elizabeth's heartache!

Has this happened to a woman? I'm trying to think of any, ruling out movie stars/actresses. I can't think of one politician, one woman in power who has done that but it seems like every time we turn around, there's another politician, sports celebrity who has. Can anyone?

How about Iris Robinson in Ireland? That's the only one I can think of, though.
