Former presidential candidate John Edwards abandoned his long denial that he had fathered a child during an affair with a campaign aide and admitted today that he is the father of the almost 2-year-old girl.

"I am Quinn's father," Edwards said in the bombshell statement this morning. "I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves.

The former senator and presidential hopeful had an affair with campaign cinematographer Rielle Hunter, 42, and she later give birth to Frances Quinn.

I must have missed that one. I don't even know who she is but I'll look her up.

Maybe women are more discreet that's why you haven't heard about them. ;)

What's the "ick" factor? The age difference? When I was 19, I dated a man in his 50's. He was pretty hot looking, worked out, took good care of himself, and a lot of fun to be with. Treated me with respect, supported my goals and dreams, valued my brains as well as my beauty (which was a first from a man),

The "ick" factor for me does have to do with the age difference, most particularly the fact that she knew him when he was 8 years old.

Very well said.....age is only a number. I work with a guy who's 20 years younger than his wife......they're happily in love, and their marriage is as solid as any I know.

Sounds like another class act.

"Two years ago, Iris Robinson caused an outcry when, during a BBC radio interview, she described homosexuality as "an abomination" and suggested that gay people could be 'turned around' through counseling. A few days later, she reiterated her views, telling a TV interviewer that 'just as a murderer can be redeemed by the blood of Christ, so can a homosexual.'"

Is it the men who are more discreet, or the women? It seems like the women are falling over themselves to reveal their affairs with Tiger Woods.

Were any Tiger's 'flings' married, if so, I hadn't heard?
