Their all gone......

Many Sunday nights I sat and watch Ben, Hoss, Adam and Little Joe ride into my living room. Now they are all gone. I saw a blip on CNN last night that Pernell Roberts had passed away at age 81.

The very first show I ever saw "In Living Color" was Bonanza.

My sympathies, as well as sentiments, exactly. Now that you mention it, either Bonanza or The Wizard Of Oz was the first TV show I ever saw in "living color" too.

He was a handsome man wasn't he. I remember my mom having a "thing" for Pernell Roberts back then. I think my dad was always a little jealous of him!!

I guess I liked Little Joe more. Back then "Adam" seemed so old to me. LOL.

My Mom bought a color TV way back in 1966. We were the first family on the block to have one. It was the deluxe model. With the record player and stereo! It was a monster. On January 1st a lot of our family would come to our house to watch the parades and games.

Aaaw, snif, snif. I love Bonanza. Even have it on DVD. I'll have to pull them out, and have a marathon, when the rain starts back up. I feel fairly safe to let dd watch it. My partner thinks they have great fight scenes. It brings back good memories for me. I was sort of a latch key, TV generation kid, and it kept me, good, clean

There have been some Saturdays when I see Bonanza on and I'll watch it. Sometimes it's fun to revisit the old shows.

My late husband looked a lot like Elvis. The black hair, sideburns. I use to have a picture of Elvis hanging up. Every time my grandson would see it he'd kiss it and say "Nite nite, Paw Paw."

When he was about 4 years old he came running in the kitchen and was giggling about Paw Paw being on TV. It was an old Elvis movie.

I was shocked that he was already 81! Where, oh where has the time gone?

I loved Bonanza. My favorite character was Hoss.

I can remember one of my kids not understanding how we could watch B/W TV. He actually thought everything in the world, was B/W back then. I had to explain to him that No we had green grass, blue skies, different colored flowers. He was only about 5 years old.

I think Bonanza was the first tv show I ever saw in color and it was at a neighbor's house. Our tv was only a black and white one! There is still David Canary left, he played "Candy" in the show...a hired hand who became like a member of the family....he has been on the soap "All My Children" for years! I don't know about Hop Sing, if he is alive or not. Yes, we all loved the men of Bonanza...just like my hubby always loved to see Linda Evans as Audra on "Big Valley". And remember "High Chaparral"? Bet you some of you might even remember "Sugar Foot", and "Stony Burke" and of course "Cheyanne"....there was "Johnny Yuma, the Rebel" and golly, just a whole slew of cowboy heroes....guess my all time favorite was Roy Rogers though...he was truly the "king of the cowboys". Thanks for taking me back to yesteryear!

Hop Sing was played by Victor Sen Yung and he passed away in 1980. David Canary played Candy Canaday from 1967 to 1973. He has won emmys for his portrayal of Adam/Stewart twins on "All My Children".
