and it used to be so lively. Could it be the new format? I was looking at some of the posts on the War board with 125 replies and I thought, it would take a month to read all of them. I really hate the new format.

I agree...the old format was easier to use, and more condusive to use.

If you open the 'outline view', upper left, you'll find it similair to the old format.

People just need to start posting, the war on Iraq has sort of pushed other Political issues to the back burner.

One of the things I like a lót about the new format, is that you don't need to find and then c&p a post from the archived board(s) in order to continue a debate. The post you want to respond to brings that thread to the top/frontpage, AND everyone can see (and click on) what post is responded to. Much less 'work' IMHO.

When you don't have time or feel like reading each and every post in a thread, you can use "outline view" to scan through the threads.

The more I get used to the new format, the more I like its new features! :)

to go along with what djie is saying, another twist with the new format is to see how a thread weaves along and how far it gets away from the original post over time. I have seen so many that start out with one premise and wind up totally on a different tangent!
