With a parent's signed consent, you can even enlist at 17.

I don't care. My conscience is completely clear.

And, who is preaching morality to others yet not practicing what they preach? I seemed to have missed those posts. Can you point them out to me?

It was incredibly gory. I had a hard time seeing some of it and had to turn my head more than once. I can't imagine a parent doing this to a child.

<<>>

What points are you referring to?

<<>>

Let's get one thing straight..It isn't a documentary..even Moore himself said this...he also said that this movie was his point of view nothing more nothing less. Secondly this is the problem I have with people saying that we should be grateful when little of this movie was factual.

<<>>

Again I find this alarming that you just believe what he says instead of questioning any of it. Do you really believe that Bush sat for 7 minutes catatonic at Booker Elementary on 9/11? Do you really believe Moore's version of Bush and the Saudi's? If so then I suggest you do a little research on your own..you will be AMAZED how many inaccuracies you will find with Moore's "point of view".

I agree it's an important film since Bush's numbers have gone up regarding the War on Terror *since* the film came out. I hope he makes a couple more...

I watch ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, CBC and CTV (last two are canadian). Only the Canadian networks make an effort of talking about all sides - the stories of civilians killed and maimed. On the american networks the coverage is 99/1 in favor of the stories of the killed or maimed soldiers and their families, even though the death tool ratio is reversed. Yes, I know it is normal that there should be concern about the american deaths (I am very saddened by them too) but the problem is that the news 'brushes off' and continually minimizes the suffering of Iraqis. Refers to them as 'collateral damage' and other expressions that make one forget that they are human beings.

Yes, there are good things done by the american military. I'm certain of that, and I've never said otherwise. But if one complains about how Michael Moore's movie showed Iraq as peaceful before the attacks by the US, saying that it was 'biased', then one should also complain about the media's lack of coverage of how horrible it has been for Iraqis since the war. Children (who were pictured in that shot of Bagdad before the war) were not being killed and bombed before the attack. I don't see how this was misleading in any way! No one ever denied that Saddam was a horrible dictator. There's still plenty of other horrible dictators on this planet... But that doesn't change the fact that for most civilians, life got WORSE after the first bombs started dropping, and that more people were killed than before the war.

How often have you seen on the american media stories of those Iraqis families who have lost loved ones? I've seen two such stories on the american media, including that of the little boy whose entire family was killed and was himself terribly maimed. Do you hear the stories of those Iraqis who say that their life is WORSE now? Do you see the stories of those who say "go away, we never asked you to bomb us to get rid of Saddam?". But of course, the west knows better about what's best for them. How paternalistic! The French and the British should have also attacked the US to put an end to slavery, or to impose civil rights to the US, when it was 'way behind' every other western country??? Remember, the US did not meet its own CURRENT requirements for what constitutes a democracy until 1964. That wasn't such a long time ago, in my book.
