The facts have been debunked by the media themselves.

If you look, the film critics loved the movie and praised it.

The hard news people that actually follow the news and politics tore it to shreds.

I'll check that one out, I also want to see the one about Ken Starr pursuing Clinton, I think its called "The Hunting of a President" that was another hugh waste of the tax payers money which only served to line Ken Starr's pockets!

Anyone but Bush!

LOL...yeah GF after the last election *FIASCO* where it was *fixed* and Gore DID in fact win...I said I would never vote again....I am a STRONG believer that we should get rid of the Electoral College, simply because this country is well populated enough for the votes to be fair!...NOW I vote will and am also going to be volunteering at the local Democrat Hdqtrs on Fridays for a few hours at a time...GOTTA get the *BUMBLING...that can't even speak in public FOOL who made a mockery of our military AND country

Hi Eggplant, "The Hunting of the President" comes out on DVD on September 28, I too am looking forward to seeing it. And don't forget "Outfoxed", that one is also on DVD, although it is also right now playing at my local cinema! And I think Donna mentioned "Truth Uncovered", another good one. If you're interested in that one, I have many copies on DVD, my dh hands them out at political events he attends!

Sorry to nitpick but you've said this twice and I just want you to know that "raw footage" would mean it's completely unedited. I seem to remember '9/11" being edited...you saw what was unfolding at the WTC, then they cut back to that guy at the fire house on his first day....back to the disaster...

It was a great documentary, in that the cameras were right there as this incredible, tragic event unfolded. It's truly a "document" in that respect. And of course it's not as controversial as Farenheit 9/11, and it wasn't intended to be. But just to show you that even a basic documentary such as "9/11" has to shape the reality it shows, in this case based on what footage was available to them, consider some of the issues that dont' come across at all in this completely accurate film - the issue of the first responders radios malfunctioning isn't dealt with...the issue of competetion between the NYPD and the NYFD I don't think was dealt with...and the film overall exists so much in the moment that there is no context. It's a completely apolitical film about the tragedy of the day and about the great heroism shown that day. But can you imagine what a different film it would be if the first shot was of the August 6th PDB headline "Bin Laden Determined to Hijack US Planes"? I know...I know... it wasn't that kind of movie, but my point is that "truth" just doesn't hit the film and get projected onto the screen. All documentaries are shaped in some way. although I'll grant you some are shaped more than others.

Just my thoughts on documentary, now that everyone seems to be a film purist all of a sudden.

Well, isn't that the one the guy is following the fire department? It is not actually about 9/11 but turned out to be. He talks to some fire fighters, that is a good one, I really enjoyed it, but facts.... Facts from one spot and one perspective and one can draw absolutely no political conclusions from it. It is good though, I think it is invaluable.
