It's been said several times that Bush could have done nothing more or different in those 7 minutes. My response is a great leader would want to take charge right away.

Another one is if you don't know what he could have done then it was OK for Bush to sit there. My response to that is I don't need to know what he should do, I'm not the president, he is.

It's ridiculous to excuse his lack of response that day. For sure, if it were Kerry or a democrat, you would find reason to criticise instead of offering excuses.

Oh, thats right, we already had that discussion. Repubs incredibly claimed Bush did fine on 9/11, & they criticised Kerry, who was not in charge.

From your link: >>"August 5, 2004 - Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry blasts President Bush for reading so long after being told the WTC was attacked and says that if he was reading to kids and his top aide whispered to him "America is under attack" that he would have "very politely and nicely" excused himself to attend to the situation.

Bush knew only about the first plane hitting the WTC before he entered the classroom (and I'm sure some protocols were set in motion!).

He thought the first hit could be an accident. When the second hit he knew it was not. That was the time to not sit quiety projecting calm. He could have and should have calmly excused himself. Period. Kerry was not president and could sit stunned all he wanted to. He was not he commander in chief of a nation.

<<"Even if this was there, the fact remains that our evidence at the time we went to war said that there was no evidence of WMD at that time, and an extension of the investigators into this would have given time to find out if there were.">>......The evidence....so it's back to Hansl Blix's interim report eh? You know the one containing a list of UNACCOUNTED-for stuff?

You stated before that Blix was speaking the truth thén, AND he was speaking the truth in an interview (after he lost his job and admitted to be PO-ed about that) saying he was convinced there was none.....I'm still really trying to wrap my mind around thát one....but then, I'm a person of logic.

Thing is that SH has never had any inténtion to ACCOUNT for what he did have and/or hand over records proving their destruction. Proof of thát are the 12 years worth of UN/SC resolutions to kindly and less kindly remind him to comply with what he signed for (in exchange of a cease-fire!) back in 1991.

You apparently were and still wóuld take the risk of adding another 18 months of SH's cruel rule, his toying with Blix and therefore the UN, KNOWING he would stay in power IF at all he would have complied with the ultimate UN/SC resolution 1441?

(edit to rephrase "Your trust in SH is amazing me time and again.", because I see it can sound like I believe you trust the person SH (which I don't believe). What I meant to say was: "trust his actions" (in complying).

Is it possible the attack that hit the Pentagon could have been stopped with quick and decisive action? I don't know the answer to this, but I would feel alot better about him if he would have had the presence of mind to try. Have you actually seen the video we are talking about? Because once you see it you may think differently about this. I was ready to let this go before I saw it. We certainly heard plenty from the other side of the aisle when the previous President was not acting Presidential.

And you twist my words. I have explained all this, quoted people and you come back with the same thing, as do I. Yes, I certainly believe those who are not working for Bush any more rather than those who still are or were
