"We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

If so, that is scary as it stinks of pure socialism.
Sorry, I completely forgot to cite it. It's from a speech she made yesterday.

You also forgot to cite the leading phrase of this quote.
Elaine
She, unlike her husband who really tried to govern from the center, is more towards the socialist side of the political spectrum.
We all saw her failed attempt at a national form of healthcare under her husbands Presidency, and the effects that the rules she helped Bill's administration outline for drug companies have had, in forcing the smaller ones out of business.
The result this year was that the flu vaccine was in such short supply as only three companies were manufacturing it, leaving tens of thousands of people without an opportunity to get the shot.
Her husband may have had some good ideas during his tenure, but listening to her with regards to healthcare was not one of them, especially since she was getting a lot of her advice from Howard Dean.
TRASH... Bill Clinton was and is a socialist too. If you compare his 1st two years when he had a Democrat House & Democrat Senate. He taxed the hell out of everyone. When Newt took over the House and Dole took over the Senate he triangulated the Lib media to give him credit from all that Newt engineered including Welfare Reform and a balanced budget. I guess BC still pulls the wool over your eyes.

Last time I looked she was a senator from NY not a "national candidate".

According to the Drudge report she is Kerry's choice for VP...
Disagreeing with the view that it's okay to take some of our money back for the common good is hardly jumping all over her. It's the fundamental difference between economic conservatives and economic liberals-taking more of people's money does not benefit anyone-it slows economic growth and creates unemployment. She, like most limousine liberals, simply fail to understand that fact-there just aren't enough rich people for the tax increases on the "rich" to help much with the deficit-all they will do is stall economic and job growth which hurts us all. And if the huge entitlement programs she and Kerry favor are ever enacted, it most definitely won't be just the rich who will have to pay for them.
