I question the use of the word THEY. I personally had some issues about Kerry that I wanted to ask some Dems and get their responses free from attacks (which tends to throw any sort of objectivity right out the window). The conversation got interesting and obviously others thought so too so it's been a busy thread.

Sometimes while posting I thought to myself....hmmm this is good stuff....too bad it can't be debated. I also remember a person a while back trying to discuss something that was raised in the "private" Rep thread and they got severly rebuked so I didn't want to repeat my points outside of that thread. So, like a vote for Nader, some of my posts were wasted on the choir.

:o)

I like the majority of those movies. African Queen and Forrest Gump are on my list as being among my favourite movies of all time (Shawshank Redemption is my absolute favourite but it's not on the list)

I don't understand the Potter series being on that list however. Both the books and the movies recieved a lot of backlash and boycotting by conservative groups. What is it about them that allows them to make the list?

Honest question here.

That's because The Shawshank Redemption has Tim Robbins in it!

That never occurred to me.

Ahhhh but it's SUCH a good movie. Doesn't the role played by Morgan Freeman make up for it (I dunno, is he a liberal too)? There are many actors whom I do not like very much personally (based on interviews) but I will still enjoy some of their movies....is THIS what the major criteria is in formulating the list? The fact that the actors may espouse Conservative values rather than the quality of the work itself?

Oh, I don't know if it mattered.

So was I...I should have winked.

Morgan Freeman is my favourite male actor. He is so diverse. He can play the good guy AND the bad guy equally well. He can be funny and has a quiet dignity and intelligence that I really like (not to mention a great speaking voice).

I'm glad you're posting to me. I was afraid that by coming here that one of two things would happen. I'd either get flamed or ignored.

You're in on a technicality, but tread carefully while you're here. ;-)
