Would you attend the RNC?

My mom is a delegate, and I have to admit that I'm a little nervous about her (and my father) attending the RNC at the end of August. I know that it hasn't curbed her enthusiasm, but I definitley would have to give it some serious thought if it were me. Just curious, would you go, even with all the terror threats? Or for my democrat counterparts, would you to the DNC (even though I think terrorists have more of a reason to attack Reps)?

I'm disappointed. I offered you valid reasons why many Republicans are upset with the idea of a Kerry presidency and was hoping to discuss them so that we could at least better understand each other's positions.

Oh excuse me...when you said "here are my valid reasons why Republicans are upset with the idea of a Kerry presidency" it sounded like you said "Of course, Democrats don't want to so these things because they approve of the Islamofascists." My mistake.

There is nothing factual about that remark. You bet I am outraged. Different words same meaning. Disgusting.

I wasn't calling you out for a typo - I fully understood what you meant to say, and it's both wrong and self-contradictory. Do we "approve" of "Islamofascists' or do we not take their threat seriously? Wrong, either way you slice it.

From "Bush told he is playing into Bin Laden's hands" in the Guardian:

"Anonymous, who published an analysis of al-Qaida last year called Through Our Enemies' Eyes, thinks it quite possible that another devastating strike against the US could come during the election campaign, not with the intention of changing the administration, as was the case in the Madrid bombing, but of keeping the same one in place.

"I'm very sure they can't have a better administration for them than the one they have now," he said.

"One way to keep the Republicans in power is to mount an attack that would rally the country around the president."

While I certainly agree that Bush is giving the terrorists exactly what they've always dreamed of, I don't think it's wise to adjust our voting to second guess what our enemies may or may not be thinking.

And I don't go around saying that Republicans side with terrorists or that our President is on the side of terrorists. I say that I think his polices are misguided, hasty, counterproductive and overreaching and that we need to vote him out of office. How's that for a conspiracy theory.

You have me confused with someone else. I didn't accuse you of flying around on a carpet.

Why would I apologize? Because several people twisted what I said into something else so that they could become offended? Since I'm not resonsible for the way *you* twist things that I say, I don't think an apology is in order.

And I don't hate Democrats. I used to be a Democrat and my dear father and most of my family are still Democrats.

I didn't clarify "A LOT" sooner because I didn't think it was necessary to get into a long debate over something as silly as "how it was taken", rather than what it said.

Oh, well, then, as I always say, if you can't trust an anonymous biased opinion, what can you trust?
