Why vote for Bush???

“Leading the Fight against HIV/AIDS. In his 2003 State of the Union Address, President Bush announced the Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, a five-year, $15 billion initiative to turn the tide in combating the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.”

“Providing Access to Medicine for HIV Positive Americans. Just as he has shown leadership globally, the President is concerned about U.S. citizens who are suffering with HIV/AIDS.”

I have a friend who has AIDS and so this means a lot in terms of something I wish my President to pursue closely.

The economy is strong and getting stronger. The President’s pro-growth policies have helped drive the economy and move the recovery forward, putting more money in the pockets of America’s families and laying a foundation for robust growth and job creation now and for years to come.

“GDP grew by more than 5 percent over the last three quarters, the fastest rate of growth in nearly two decades.”

“Productivity grew at the fastest 3-year rate in more than 50 years.”

This is even after 9/11, something that has never been seen on US soil. The stock Market crash after 9/11 had a huge economy affect, and the increase of jobs all over the US even after both never before seen horrifying events.

I have the best paying job I have ever had and opportunities that were never there before. My sister just bought her first house and the rates IR’s haven’t been this good I believe ever before. My brother-in-law’s job had the ability to advance his position and pay which further helped my sister’s family buy a home and live comfortably.

“Creating Jobs – The President acted decisively to help create jobs and get Americans back to work. Just one year after the President signed the Jobs & Growth bill, there is widespread evidence his policies have worked.”

I also support his contribution toward a more literate society. The focus on children both him and Laura Bush are extremely dedicated to. I have two teachers in my family and they appreciate his stance on how important education is to them. The No Child Left Behind. NCLB creates strong standards in each state for what every child should know and learn in reading and math in grades 3-8 and holds schools accountable for closing the achievement gap between students of different socio-economic backgrounds.

I am also Pro-Life although I do believe in certain circumstances in which the mother’s health is at risk or the child. I believe you should be able to qualify for an abortion.

As for my support on his stride to fight the “war on terrorism”…I think my posts speak volumes for what I believe in that regard and above all else listed above this is the main reason Bush will get my vote in November.

I support President Bush because he is a true leader. He has the confidence to stand alone, and the courage to make tough decisions. He is a leader by the quality and integrity of his actions. I will vote for him again because of his principles and values, integrity and character, and love and compassion for those who are hungry for food, freedom, and truth.

Please don't bash me for my opinion...I would like other's to state their reasoning for supporting Bush and voting for him. Thanks!!!

I voted for Bush in 2000. I'm voting for Kerry in 2004. For many reasons but the main reason is the debt that has accumulated during the Bush years and Bush and his people seem unconcerned about it. I'm a fiscal conservative, I don't believe in leaving debts to future generations. I'm in my twenties, and I want to have children. It's selfish to leave them so much debt. The Republicans in the past would never do what Bush is doing and many fiscal conservatives like myself are not thrilled with the Bush administration on this issue.

That and the way the Bush has handled the war on terrorism and Iraq. We should have concentrated on Al-Qaeda not enflamed the Muslim world by invading a major Middle East country that was not really much involved with Al-Qaeda. I believe Bush has made us much less safe and helped to create a whole new generation of Muslim fanatics in many countries who hate America.

I also believe that Bush simply isn't bright enough to be president. There are so many Republicans that would have been a better choice.

It's time for a change. His dad was a one term president, maybe the same will be true with George W.

I’m sorry to hear that. While I agree deficit spending is of concern, I tend to fall in line with most economists that agree Bush’s tax policy and cash infusions were necessary to restart a badly needed and new economic engine. Greenspan had it right when he said the Bush tax policy not only saved 1 million jobs from being cut, but caused a premature end to our recession. Economically speaking, our forecasters had to (for a 4th time in the last 16 months) once again restate their projected growth patterns further into positive territory. Our economy is not only growing, but is growing much faster than anyone predicted (about 10,000) jobs a day are being added (higher than Kerry’s proposed economic package that he has been touting) and is in real numbers, not some pie-in-the-sky projection that Kerry thinks might happen. Our economy is growing faster that 13%!! That’s unheard of for a developed nation and is made even more difficult to believe considering our large population. If this new Bush economy were allowed to run for another 5 years, we would grow our way to surplus. That’s not short-sighted, that’s an incredible feat. Assuming inflation remained tame (granted, not likely) we would be able to pay off the national debt in the following ten years. His policies may be scary to some, but in the short and long term, I think he’s done a great job economically considering what he inherited from Clinton.

I also do not believe Bush is going to continue this spending spree. I’ve mentioned another story where Bush is planning a 25% reduction on our stateside military forces. Considering the right usually funds the military heavily, I take this as a sign he plans on major spending cuts across the board if he’s elected for another term.

Uh I could have sworn the title of this thread said "Why Bush?", not "Why NOT Bush?"...I made this thread for those who can express their reasoning for voting for Bush...hey it's an open debate board and you can basically post what you wish...I recommend starting your own topic if you want to share your thoughts of how those who don't want to pick Bush feel..I opened this thread to hear the otherside...from my fellow Bush supporters.

Pure fantasy. There is no way we will grow out of this debt in five years. Bush himself has said he hopes to set things up where we can cut the debt in half over the next ten years.

--------------------------------------------------------------

And don't hold your breath on any big spending cuts. Neither Republicans or Democrats are all that serious about that as far as I can tell. I know, the Republicans talk the talk on reduced government spending, but they don't walk the walk on it.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry, I know this is supposed to be a pro-Bush thread, but like Bridgett and many others, I don't believe the politicians are yet serious about the debt that could get much worse.

----------------------------------------------------------

Also it is highly unlikely the economy will grow as robustly as it has the past few months, that just isn't realistic, that's far too fairytalish and optimistic.

The deficit is $100 billion less than it was estimated to be just a few months ago, and it is

I can see that some are not capable of acting maturely and resisting the temptation of insulting Bush...some people never cease to amaze me...it's a shame because they play right into the stereotype.

Believe me I would much prefer that Bush had turned out to be a good, decent, and capable leader for our great country instead of someone whose actions almost demand insults.
