The Successes of President George Bush

Dear Reader,

I'm getting sick and tired of my fellow Americans

saying that the presidency of George W. Bush is a

failure. With the string of successes he's had,

nothing could be further from the truth. Let me list a

few:

1. He has successfully rid America of that troubling

budget surplus and turned it into a $500 billion

deficit.

2. He has successfully helped America's trading

partners have the highest trade surplus with us in

America's history.

3. He has successfully lowered the taxes for the

richest Americans and corporations at the expense of

99% of the American population.

4. He has successfully started another Viet Nam in

Iraq after lying to the whole world.

5. He has successfully pushed the price of gas up to

the highest level ever here in America.

6. He has successfully allowed American corporations

to dramatically increase their pollution.

7. He has successfully thrown about 10% of the

population out of work.

8. He has successfully allowed corporations to export

our best middle-class jobs.

9. He has successfully divided our country as never

before.

10. He has successfully driven our oldest allies away.

11. He has successfully united the terrorists as never

before (he said all along he was a uniter, not a

divider).

12. He has successfully broken his oath to uphold the

constitution of the United States of America.

13. He has successfully united Democrats (yay!) as

they haven't been for years (I told you he was a

uniter).

14. He has successfully driven me out of the

Republican party for the rest of my life.

You know, with a string of successes like that, it's a

wonder America is still standing.

<< There is no way I could be involved with a party where obvious racists and homophobes are looked up to as leaders.>>

Oh? And, for example, what about Senator Byrd? BTW Chaney's daughter is gay.

<< As far as Republicans and wealth most Republicans that are not military are wealthy or above middle class. The active duty military people generally vote republican because of the strong military spiel(although this year I expect to see a drop in support for Bush among active duty family members if not the actual active duty member). The other group that are Republicans those that are extremely religious and feel the need to enforce their religion on others(those that are pro-life,etc).>>

What a bunch of ...!!! My family & my husband's family are middle or lower class AND Republican, thank you! Not atypical at all either. The other Republicans on this board are not wealthy either from what they have said. The religious part is way off base too!!!!! How did you ever come up with this? You just proved cl-whren right! Many libs DO know little about what Republicans are all about.

LOL. It is funny, I told my father in law a few months ago, that I could not understand why anyone who was not a millionaire would vote Republican. Then I overheard him saying it to someone else a few days ago.

It seems insane for poor people to vote that way, they used to have the religious vote, based on some non-political views. (such as family values, abortion) But people have got to see that no conservative has ever done a thing about abortions, and they have yet to restore the oh so wonderful traditional family.

I just wonder.

But, traditionally, republicans put more dough into the military, and while your husband is making really low earnings, he would be biting the hand that feeds him, so to speak, to be voting democrat, and take the chance of there not being a war. I am certian you husband is not happily trotting off to war, who is, but traditionally, the military's biggest customer is the rebublican party.

and how much do you think that rebublicans know about libs then? tell me one thing that is so bad about us? or all. I would like to know.

also, I DO know about republicans somewhat, I was engaged to one and we lived together. HE talked his nonsense all the time, we would be up all night debating passionately every aspect of american government, (and at the time, he was much more informed than I was, but I got smarter.) He was a very smart guy, But I could never get past his way of thinking. I completely understood where he came from, but I could got get around it myself. So, we debated until we had nothing left to debate, and then he started dropping acid every day and I had to move out of there. NOw he is a gigantic tree hugging, rock eating, bleeding heart pot smoking tye dye wearing bike riding hair farming hippie liberal I ever met in my life. Jeez. I dont know whether to be proud or embarassed.

So, are you admitting that Dems don't give a crap about the military?

If he was really worried about it, don't you think he would have done somethign just a tad sooner? Just an opinion.>>>>>

Well, I know as an AA I see through it. I'm sure other AAs will see through it. He only cares about us when he needs our vote. When he was candidate Bush maybe some gave him the benefit of the doubt. However, now he has been in office for 4 years and has not done enough to help the AA communities. Then on top of that he did not speak at the NAACP. Talk about a slap in the face to the black community. That to me shows that he does not value the concerns of the AA communities. If he does not hear what we are feeling, how in the world could he fix it? At any rate, I predict that he will have an even lower percentage (if that is possible..lol) of the African American votes this year.

Cheney also SUPPORTED the constitutional amendment to ban gay marriages! At least that is what he says this year!

There are some upper middle to wealthy people on this board. I know I noticed a post a while back mentioning all sorts of fancy foods that I have only heard of in movies. They restaurants I go to definately don't even serve the items in question(won't post specifics because I don't want anyone to feel that I'm bashing them personally because I'm not.) My family is middle class and I guarantee we are not looking for those things when we go out. I'm not knocking the person that does but I'm just saying that that is how different we are on this board. When I read that post I realized how we could view the world so differently. That is not necessariy a bad thing. We just live in different worlds(ala John Edwards..two different Americas speech).

Oh and I stick by the statement that most Republicans are either wealthy or upper-middle, active duty military or extremely religious(always hear media referring to religious south that will not vote for dems because of religious issues, gay marriage issue,pro-choice/pro-life issues..etc). In addition, MOST are not minorities. Notice I did not say ALL Republicans. There are always exceptions. Just like there are some wealthy individuals that are DEMOCRATS(just look at our current candidate and his wife!). That has been MY experience with Republicans. You can agree or disagree because I honestly don't care. Those are the type of people that I run into that are Republicans.

that is a statement you extracted from nowhere. NO I am not sugggesting that, and nothing to admit here. Do YOU admit that republicans don't care about public schools? I suppose you don't.

I wonder this, if the public school system had as much dough forked in as the military... would anyone even join the military???
