The Successes of President George Bush

Dear Reader,

I'm getting sick and tired of my fellow Americans

saying that the presidency of George W. Bush is a

failure. With the string of successes he's had,

nothing could be further from the truth. Let me list a

few:

1. He has successfully rid America of that troubling

budget surplus and turned it into a $500 billion

deficit.

2. He has successfully helped America's trading

partners have the highest trade surplus with us in

America's history.

3. He has successfully lowered the taxes for the

richest Americans and corporations at the expense of

99% of the American population.

4. He has successfully started another Viet Nam in

Iraq after lying to the whole world.

5. He has successfully pushed the price of gas up to

the highest level ever here in America.

6. He has successfully allowed American corporations

to dramatically increase their pollution.

7. He has successfully thrown about 10% of the

population out of work.

8. He has successfully allowed corporations to export

our best middle-class jobs.

9. He has successfully divided our country as never

before.

10. He has successfully driven our oldest allies away.

11. He has successfully united the terrorists as never

before (he said all along he was a uniter, not a

divider).

12. He has successfully broken his oath to uphold the

constitution of the United States of America.

13. He has successfully united Democrats (yay!) as

they haven't been for years (I told you he was a

uniter).

14. He has successfully driven me out of the

Republican party for the rest of my life.

You know, with a string of successes like that, it's a

wonder America is still standing.

You HOPE for the option to live on base, but out of the three bases I lived at so far, we have only lived on base once, and it was only for 7 months (during his training).

And we're very proud that there are people who are willing to serve and families who can help support those that do serve.

Questions, and I'm really not looking for a partisan answer, I'm seriously curious. Being from a family that has served, but not aware of anyone serving now, I'm not getting any firsthand info anymore. So please take this as just a curious person asking.

Does it ever bother the military personnel that there isn't adequate housing, paycuts for those serving in Iraq, VA hospitals closing or benefits lagging as much as 6 month or more - or do they just take it as the status quo like "Oh that's the Air Force/Army/Navy, etc for you. You know what you're getting when you enlist"?

Do hear the same stories we do in the US of the troops running out of things they need or running low on ammo?

How was the news of troop allignment received there (I beleive you said you were in Germany?)?

Lastly, what kind of news coverage do you get there and from who?

I understand if you can't or don't feel comfortable answering some of this. I'm sure the code that the military personnel follow is also followed by the spouse/family.

Well I do know what living off of 25,000 is like out of the military and that is with my husband, our daughter and me. It is not easy we had to pay full rent and medical benefits were deducted from his pay about $200/month, and that was when it was cheaper, we had to pay utilities on top of that just like everyone else, we decided that I should be stay at home mom because we would have ended up breaking even if we had to pay for child care, car payment, groceries, all the wonderful unexpected events of life, just had to pray the car wouldn't break down it wasn't easy at all but we made it. I don't know how someone with any more children than one would be able to, we were barely making ends meet with just our one.

That was one of the reasons I decided to stay at home.

Thanks for answering. Took a little digging to find it though. A lot of traffic over the weekend. :-)

Thanks again. I was just curious to see if it was mostly Fox or something that you got. Glad to see you get some diversity in your media sources. :-)

So much ignorance... so little time. Why is it that the party you accuse of being racist has two American Africans (no I will not succumb to political correctness which is liberal censorship)in two of the highest ranking cabinet positions? Tell me of any Democrat that has put American Africans higher than Secretary of State and Security Advisor? I'm sure because a Republican has them in high office it must be a right wing conspiracy... more ignorance... I am not in the military and I am not rich or even upper middle class. To cling to the tagline that Republicans are rich and only looking out for the wealthy is just plain ignorant. In nineteen years in the senate John Kerry voted to raise the taxes on social security income 98 times... yes 98 times... Is it the rich that are dependent on social security wages to live... does that assist the middle & lower classes?...I don't think so... John Kerry also voted 63 times to increase the gas tax... does that help the middle class and lower classes? I don't think so... Why don't you stop hiding behind democratic taglines and do some homework of your own. John Kerry was a Vietnam Vet great. What did he do in the Senate to help the American people? Nothing. I used to call myself a Democrat. I used to chant the mantra "The Democrats are for the people". It's all BULL! When you take the time to really figure out what's going on... we will welcome you to our side.

I think it's easy to criticize our President. I know I couldn't do what he does. But I think he has done a great job. He has been bold to do what he felt was right and he has a lot of opposition. Sure he is not perfect but who is. He has been standing to the values of our founding fathers, what's not easy because this country seems to drift aways from them right now. Our founding fathers believed the bible and a faith in Jesus Christ was important to found a free country. Without this faith we would not be were we are right now. The importance for family, rights for minorities, generosity to others etc. Our founding fathers thought prayer is important and they also practiced it. But look what's happening to our country since we baned prayer out of school: crime rate went up, abortions went up( how can we "rich" people kill our children in the womb?Out of convienience?), pornographie went up etc. Were are we heading? Can a country that abuses freedom stand? So I'm applauding George Bush that he has character and stands for these godly values. Let us pray for our President and wish him well.
